This is the Senate scam Tea Party Patriots Action has been exposing for months. Republican senators are raising money off the SAVE America Act in their fundraising emails, calling it the most important election integrity bill in a generation, and then refusing to vote it onto the floor.
In this clip from The Jenny Beth Show, Scott Presler and Jenny Beth Martin name names:
• Senator Susan Collins fundraises off the SAVE America Act publicly. Won’t co-sponsor it. Just voted against voter ID on the FISA bill.
• Senator Lisa Murkowski voted against attaching the SAVE America Act to budget reconciliation, where it would only need 51 votes.
• Senator Mitch McConnell, same.
• Senate Majority Leader John Thune, same.
A budget reconciliation vote would have bypassed the 60-vote threshold and the talking filibuster. Four Republican senators killed it. Scott Presler calls it “extreme disappointment.” Tea Party Patriots Action calls it accountability.
The American people are tired of senators pretending to support legislation while quietly killing it. As Scott says: “We’re not here to cause machinations. We’re here to be a mirror, showing the American people what these senators are really like.”
