Dr. Kat Lindley says the diaries did not surprise her, and that is her point. You do not need a medical degree, she argues, to recognize someone who thinks a great deal of himself and enjoyed having the power to tell the world what to do.
What she calls incriminating is the pairing. One entry records that he recommended New York City's mayor close the schools, based on their conversations and public statements. A later entry sits alongside interviews in which he denied having anything to do with lockdowns or school closures.
She reads the rest the same way. The call to Barbra Streisand. The first pitch at a ballgame, sitting in an empty stadium with his mask down, while the country he was advising sat at home. She was on a school board at the time, taking daily calls from a superintendent trying to interpret rules that kept changing, in a district where six and seven year olds were masked and children were not allowed to hug a teacher.
Then the proximal origins meeting: twelve scientists, and by her account ten of them questioned the furin cleavage insertion in the sequence.
They later published a paper concluding otherwise. The physicians who kept asking, and the President, got called conspiracy theorists.
