Jim Gilmore is the 68th Governor of Virginia. Before that he was an elected chief prosecutor, serving six years as a Commonwealth's Attorney, and then Attorney General of Virginia. He went on to chair the Republican National Committee, to chair the National Commission on Homeland Security for five years, and to serve as United States Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. He is a trial lawyer by training and served overseas as a soldier in Germany.
