[00:00:14] Welcome to The Jenny Beth Show. Someone tried to kill the President of the United States on Saturday. And before we talk about what happened, you need to understand what built that moment, because it did not come out of nowhere. They didn't just build a culture of hate. They printed it, posted it and called it resistance. I'm going to walk you through the timeline, starting at the top. Yesterday at the White House podium, Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt,
[00:00:40] who should have been on maternity leave, but had to come back in because of Saturday night's events, made a statement the media did not want to cover. She held up the manifesto of the would-be assassin, and she said the words that were in it were indistinguishable from the daily rhetoric coming from high-ranking elected Democrats. Watch this. When you read the manifesto of this shooter, ask yourselves, how different is the rhetoric from this almost assassin than what you read
[00:01:07] on social media and hear in various forums every single day? The answer, if you're being honest with yourself, is that there is no difference at all. Much of the manifesto of the would-be assassin is indistinguishable from the words that we hear daily from so many. For example, as the First Lady of the United States pointed out this morning, just two days prior to the shooting, ABC's late-night host Jimmy Kimmel disgustingly called First Lady Melania Trump an expectant widow.
[00:01:37] Who in their right minds says a wife would be glowing over the potential murder of her beloved husband? And having experienced what I did with the First Lady on Saturday night, I can tell you that she was anything but that. This kind of rhetoric about the President, the First Lady, and his supporters is completely deranged, and it's unbelievable that the American people are consuming it night after night after night. As President Trump said on Saturday night at this podium, we as Americans must recommit
[00:02:05] ourselves to resolving our differences peacefully and uniting around the shared values that make our country great. The deranged lies and smears against the President, his family, his supporters have led crazy people to believe crazy things, and they are inspired to commit violence because of those words. I think you heard it directly from the President on Saturday night, Aisha, that in his words,
[00:02:29] we need to recommit ourselves as a country to toning down the rhetoric and to unifying around what makes our country great. That's true of everyone who works in this White House, but as I said, it's also true of everyone who has a voice and a platform across this country, whether you're on television, a podcast host, you know, people listen. And when you have mentally disturbed individuals across the
[00:02:54] country who are listening to this crazed rhetoric about the President day after day after day, it inspires them to do crazy things. And unfortunately, it's not just the media, it is the entire Democrat Party has made their pitch to voters across the country that Donald Trump poses an existential threat to democracy, that he is a fascist and that they compare him to Hitler. I mean, these are despicable statements that the American people have been consuming for years. And so many mentally perturbed
[00:03:24] individuals are led to believe these words are truth and then are inspired to act on it. I have a whole host of examples that we can share with you after it is pages and pages of major Democrat Party elected officials saying such as Rep. Hakeem Jeffries just this April this month said we are in an era of maximum warfare everywhere all the time. Governor Josh Shapiro said heads need to roll within the administration.
[00:03:52] Senator Alex Padilla said people are, quote, dying because of fear and terror caused by the Trump administration. Senator Elizabeth Warren, President Trump is making the country look like a, quote, fascist state. Senator Adam Schiff saying President Trump using a dictator playbook. Senator Ed Markey calling President Trump a dictator saying that this administration's actions are authoritarianism on steroids. Governor J.B. Pritzker, never before in my life have I called for mass protest disruptions.
[00:04:20] These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace. Indistinguishable from their daily words. That's not a political attack. That is a documented fact. Let's start at the top with Democrat leadership. Hakeem Jeffries, the majority leader in the House last week, standing at a microphone in front of cameras next to a sign with President Trump's face on it that said that read maximum warfare.
[00:04:46] He talked about maximum warfare everywhere all the time. Let's watch this clip. We are in an era of maximum warfare everywhere all the time. And we're going to keep the pressure on Republicans in every single state in the union.
[00:05:10] And when he had a chance to walk it back yesterday. No, he didn't do that. He doubled down. Let's watch. To anything that has been said, certainly as it relates to the comment related to maximum warfare everywhere all the time in connection with the redistricting battle that Republicans launched, I stand by it. You can continue to criticize me for it. I don't give a damn about your criticism.
[00:05:41] Maximum warfare, no qualifier, no pause, no moment of reflection after a man tried to kill the president of the United States. No thinking maybe we should do things a little bit differently. The top Democrat in the House said it and he stands by it. And that is who is leading the opposition in Congress right now. He is not alone. Senator Alex Padella went on camera yesterday and told Americans that, quote, people are, I don't know if it was yesterday, but he went on camera
[00:06:09] saying that people are dying because of fear and terror caused by the Trump administration. And when the interviewer asked him directly whether heated rhetoric is dangerous, he blamed President Trump and ICE agents. Watch this. Dying because of fear and terror caused by this administration. Do I think heated rhetoric is, you know, part of what's causing this response? Sadly, yes. And we've seen this administration
[00:06:36] escalate and escalate and escalate in all ways that matters, whether it's the tactics of with which they're going about immigration enforcement. There's a smarter, more effective way to do this than what they're doing. Then there is Senator Elizabeth Warren on the floor of the United States Senate last year. Listen to what she said. And as you listen, remember who has actually been doing the shooting.
[00:07:05] I just don't even know why there aren't uprisings all over the country. Maybe there will be. People need to start taking to the streets. This is a dictator. You know, there needs to be unrest in the streets for as long as there's unrest in our lives. You know, there's a lot of people who are in the streets. Show me where it says that protests are supposed to be polite and peaceful. Do something about your dad's immigration practices. Hold on. We're going to pause that clip. How do you resist the temptation to—
[00:07:32] It's a wrong clip. We're going to pause that. There's one of Senator Warren. We'll come back to that in just a moment. It's a—that one's a compilation clip. Let me go to Elizabeth Warren now. Every day, Donald Trump is making this nation look more and more like a fascist state. She asked how the—how violent the Trump administration will get,
[00:07:58] and the answer to who is violent is on the surveillance clip from Saturday night. So she sits there asking about how violent the Trump administration will get when it's actually the left causing the violence in this country right now. And then there's Representative Adam Schiff. Shockingly, he claims that President Trump wants protesters surrounding ICE agents, and then he calls it part of a Democratic—a dictator playbook. Watch this.
[00:08:28] And we recognize this playbook Trump is using once there are protests, and there are always going to be some violent agitators. And, you know, violence has no place in this. It ought to be condemned. It is condemned. Anybody using violence should be arrested and prosecuted. But the president wants these confrontations so that he can call out the military in other cities in America as part of his would-be dictator playbook.
[00:08:59] He condemns violence, and then he says, but. Look, I learned in Dale Carnegie training not to use the word but because it undermines the first thing you said. Here, let me give you an example. I love that shirt you're wearing, but makes it seem like I don't actually like the shirt, right? Saying that you condemn violence but—and then blaming the president of the United States sure makes it sound like you have
[00:09:24] an excuse for violence. And then we come to Governor Pritzker, who declared that Republicans, elected officials or staff, and by extension their voters should never know a moment of peace. Let's listen to him from New Hampshire. Okay, so we can't listen to his speech in New Hampshire because we don't have that clip, but he did that in a clip in New Hampshire. Presumably,
[00:09:49] he was in New Hampshire because he was—he plans to run for president or is at least considering it. And this is a man who maybe is thinking of running for president and is saying that Republicans should never know a moment of speech. This kind of language, it filters down. Now, let's watch that montage clip from End Wokeness and watch—just watch it carefully. I just don't even know why there aren't uprisings all over the country, and maybe there will be.
[00:10:16] People need to start taking to the streets. This is a dictator. You know, there needs to be unrest in the streets for as long as there's unrest in our lives. The most enemies of the state. Show me where it says that protests are supposed to be polite and peaceful. Do something about your dad's immigration practices, you feckless. When they go low, we kick them. How do you resist the temptation to run up and wring her neck? The biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized right
[00:10:45] to the right. I thought he should have punched him in the face. I said, even if you lost, he insulted your wife. He came down the escalator and called Mexicans rapists and murders. He said, well, what do you think I should have done? I said, I think you should have punched him in the face and then gotten out of the race. You would have been a hero. I'd like to punch him in the face. I said, if we were in high school, I'd take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him. Punch some people in the face! When was the last time an actor assassinated a president? They're still going to have to go out and put a bullet in Donald Trump, and that's a fact.
[00:11:14] Look as his character is stabbed to death. Where is John Wilkes Booth when you need him? This way. That's it right there. I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House. A Missouri state senator is under investigation by the Secret Service after saying she hopes President Trump is assassinated. I will go and take Trump out tonight.
[00:11:40] And if you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back. And sadly, the domestic enemies to our voting system and our honoring our constitution are
[00:12:06] right at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. They're not going to stop before election day in November, and they're not going to stop after election day. And that should be, everyone should take note of that on both levels, that this isn't, they're not going to let up and they should not. If you think we're rallying now, you ain't seen nothing yet. Nancy Pelosi calling us domestic enemies. You know, the enemies of this country are the people who
[00:12:33] are outside of this country who wish to kill all of us. The people who live next to us, who vote differently than us, they're not our enemies. They're our fellow American citizens who are exercising the First Amendment rights and have differences of opinions. We know that at Tea Pretty Patriots Action. And the right and the people who support President Trump treat the people who disagree with us in such a manner. But the left is not doing the same. They think of us as their
[00:13:01] enemies and they think it's okay to shoot us. It's just wrong. And look at how this kind of rhetoric reaches the grassroots. Ordinary Americans, some of them in positions of trust and authority. One of these people we're about to show you is supposedly a teacher on TikTok. Let's watch this compilation, which comes from libs of TikTok. Again? Oh my God. Oh, I'm already crying.
[00:13:32] Imagine faking your own assassination attempt for the third time and then everybody's just upset that it wasn't real and that you didn't croak. I wake up each morning hoping he has died. I go to bed each night hoping by the time I get up in the morning. He has died. For the love of all things good, just faking die. They missed again?
[00:14:03] I can't. If somebody misses. One more time. Nobody wants to work these days. Nobody wants to get out there. One of those was a teacher. Someone who spends every day shaping how our young Americans think. That is what he is posting, wishing the president dead. And you remember the CEO of United Health Care, he was murdered in cold blood in broad daylight in New York City on a street in New York
[00:14:29] City. His company's social media manager, the person they hired to represent their brand online, posted this after the shooting on Saturday night. We're cooked as a country when my first reaction to hearing the news about Trump's attempt was, it was probably fake. Like immediately I was like, oh, that wasn't real. Probably fake. And the second was, aww, they missed? Or was killed. And her response to an attempted
[00:14:58] assassination. That's sad. That's when you know we're cooked. Sorry, I jumped in there before I should have. The CEO of her company was killed. And her response to an assassination attempt on the president of the United States is to mock the shooter, that the shooter failed. And then there was a scene outside of the Hilton on Saturday night. Epoch Times reporter Mary Otsu was there. She reported that protesters outside the White House
[00:15:27] correspondence dinner held signs reading, death to tyrants and death to them all. And then she mentioned also that later in the night after the shooting, as she was watching, walking, trying to get to the White House for the briefing, she passed three teenage girls glued to their phones. One of them said, and I am quoting, aww man, I wish they got him. And two of her friends giggled. Teenage girls giggling about the failed assassination attempt
[00:15:55] of the president of the United States. When your teenagers think wishing the president is dead is a punchline, the radicalization project is complete. And the left built it brick by brick, tweet by tweet, press conference by press conference, high ranking Democrat officials, a teacher in Ohio, a corporate social media manager mocking the assassination attempt at stage, and then lamenting that the shooter missed. These are not fringe accounts. These are people in
[00:16:23] positions of authority, and they have a responsibility to be mindful of their rhetoric. And when we see teenagers outside the dinner wishing the shooter had succeeded, we see all the awful comments on social media. This is a culture the left has built deliberately, systematically over the years. And yet, despite every one of these attempts, Donald Trump has not backed down, not once. He gets up every single day and he fights for this country. He is not intimidated.
[00:16:51] He's not rattled. He is fearless because he loves America. And he knows he is an obligation to every single one of us, Republicans and Democrats to keep going. That is our president. And that is exactly what the people on the left are afraid of. Tea Party Patriots Action and I are not backing down either. We've been through things like this before. We faced Obama's IRS targeting of us for years. We did not
[00:17:17] back down. We did not break then, and we will not break now. And neither can you. You made a choice when you cast your vote for President Trump in 2016, in 2020, and against all odds again in 2024. That vote was a promise, a promise to stand for something. Your future self is counting on you. Your children and grandchildren are counting on you. We still have a chance to save this country,
[00:17:42] but it requires showing up every single day right now while we still can and while it still matters. So, as we go into the rest of today's show and every show between now and November, I am asking you to dig deep, to stand strong, to take action, to help enact President Trump's agenda into law, and to help us hold conservative majorities in the House and the Senate. Now, let's get to work. We have a full show today. The assassination attempt on President Trump, the left's pattern of
[00:18:12] incitement, the legislative fix to end the Department of Homeland Security standoff, the funding standoff, the Sea of America Act, which, as you know, has been stalled in the Senate for 76 days since the House passed it, and the King of England, King Charles, showing up at the, at the, for a joint session of Congress to speak before a joint session of Congress today. Let me bring in our
[00:18:38] guest, Chris Ullman, the president of Eagle Forum. She's been with us before, and I'm so glad she's here to talk about these important stories with us today. Chris, welcome back to the Jenny Beth Show. It's great to be with you, Jenny Beth. What a day. What a, what a weekend, huh? Yeah, it is really, what a weekend. I know I covered a lot in that introduction, but I just wanted to make sure we are laying out exactly where the left stands. What are your thoughts, and what were you
[00:19:05] thinking on Saturday night after you heard of this assassination attempt, and what are you thinking today on Tuesday morning? Well, I, I was, of course, shocked. I had gone to a school fundraiser, come home, and was excitingly turning on the TV to watch the White House Correspondents' Dinner, the first time the president was going to be there. It's going to be must-see TV. And when I turned on the TV, nothing was happening. And then quickly found out what had happened. And, you know, it's
[00:19:33] tragic. It's tragic that at a night where we were going to have some fun, where the president was finally going to be able to be in the room with the White House press and crack jokes and really a coming together of a variety of, of people with different ideologies, this had to ruin it once again. And watching your clips, Jenny Beth, I'm telling you, I was moved to tears again at the depravity
[00:20:00] of the human heart to wish another human being, and more than one, dead. I mean, what, what are our children learning? What are they hearing? And what are mainstream Americans hearing from the left again and again and again, that we, that some people aren't worth living because we disagree with them on politics? It is, it is heartbreaking. It's truly heartbreaking. It is heartbreaking. What did you tell your, your kids? What were they thinking?
[00:20:30] Well, it's interesting. I have one daughter who's studying in Scotland and she called and wanted to know. And first I wanted to make sure that everybody was okay. And I told them that, you know, we live in Alexandria, Virginia. It's 85% Democrat here. Our neighbors have, you know, most of them are Democrats. We're friendly with everyone just because we disagree politically doesn't mean we wish harm. Uh, I taught my kids from the youngest age that, that wishing harm,
[00:21:00] physical harm on another person is never justified. Even your worst enemies, you pray for them. You try to convince them with facts and logic, but you never wish that harm would come to them. That is just, it's, it's just, it's, it shows you that we really need to recommit ourselves to our founding principles and to our belief in God and the fundamental dignity of every human being.
[00:21:28] You, you are so right about that. And as hard as it sometimes is, we have to keep praying, praying for them. Yes. And I'm praying that their hearts will soften and the scales will come off their eyes because these are people, some of them, and that manifesto is a clear example of this, who have just bought all of the lies and the propaganda from the left. And they're not even seeking out facts. They're not trying to think critically. They're not trying to distinguish
[00:21:57] political opinion from human beings. It's very, very disturbing what we're seeing. And I think we have to keep praying for them. And, you know, sadly, this is not new. I mean, I think it's heated up a lot since Trump came to the White House the first time. And then again, of course, this time, but I remember back in the nineties, the Democrats line was Republicans want to give you dirty air to
[00:22:24] breathe and dirty water to drink and push grandma off a cliff. I mean, these, these are horrible things. And, and what do we say? We say that program will bankrupt America. That will actually hurt people's ability to get healthcare. These are not, you know, we're going to, they're going to kill you type things. But when the American people hear thing over and over and over again, they start to believe
[00:22:47] it. And the Democrats know that, which is why they're so good about repeating these phrases again and again and again. But we, we just have to stop this. We're at a turning point now, I think, where we just have to demand more from our elected officials. Yeah, we really do have to demand more from the elected officials. Chris, on Saturday night, I was speaking at an event in Scottsdale,
[00:23:14] right outside of Phoenix, Arizona about the Save America Act. And we'll talk about that, that bill in a few minutes. And I was doing the event with Scott Pressler. He was actually speaking and I got word from a signal group that actually you and I both are in. And all that I saw was shots fired dinner DC. And I thought it's a diner at first. And I'm like, what is it? What are they
[00:23:38] talking about? And I quickly got, you can Google things, but as breaking news happens, there's no response in Google. So I got on X and I quickly figured out what happened when and watched a couple of videos. Someone confirmed that, that I could see it on, on C-SPAN. So I knew it was real and that it wasn't fake. You have to be sure those things because of the world we live in today right now. And
[00:24:05] then when Scott finished and he gave an amazing, just pump you up kind of speech, he's a very gifted public speaker. I, it was my turn to speak and I had to thank him and then announce what had happened to everyone. And here we are in Phoenix in Maricopa County, the very County where Charlie Kirk lived, where Turning Point offices are. And we had a table set up for Turning Point and I had to announce what
[00:24:33] had happened. And, and I made sure I gave a call out to the people from Turning Point because I know that it, it touched them even more than other people in the audience because they're dealing with the aftermath of the assassination of the founder of Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk. And as I was speaking, there were, there were people who were brought to tears. There was one woman sitting on the front row who just, she just had tears pouring down her face almost the remainder of the time that
[00:25:03] I was speaking. And I was able to explain what happened, get back to the Sea of America Act and remind people that President Trump fights, fights, fights, and we have to continue to do the same for the legislation he wants passed. But man, it was so hard to go have to be the bearer of that news and to do so
[00:25:23] in Charlie Kirk's hometown. It just, it was really awful. And I'm, I'm just so, I'm, I'm thankful that no one wound up being seriously hurt on Saturday night. And I'm so angry that this has happened to President Trump again. It's just wrong. It is wrong. And you know, one of the things when we think about it, and I
[00:25:48] live here in DC, and obviously I've driven by that hotel any number of times I've gone to events there. But when things like this happen, I think what the left doesn't understand is all our freedoms are going to be restricted because maybe we'll be able to get the ballroom built and that would be great. But we're going to lose our ability to check into hotel rooms when there are public speakers who are
[00:26:12] going to be there the next day. Every time they do something like this, all of us lose more and more of our freedom. I, I'm beginning to think they don't really care that, that this is happening, that they're actually hurting the American body politic. But I was just thinking about, you know, the next time that somebody has an event there, who's going to go to the Hilton to speak?
[00:26:40] Poor Erica Kirk was there in, in the ballroom at the time. I said a prayer for her, you know, I can't imagine. And, and all these people for whom violence has suddenly become real. And once again, it's at the hands of somebody on the left who is listening to violent rhetoric be repeated again and again and again. Um, we need Democrats to come out and say no more,
[00:27:07] no calls for warfare, no calls for all this crazy stuff that all the clips that you showed. I mean, you know, you think about it when you live here in DC and I'm conservative and I know that Maxine Waters is calling for people to get in my face. You know, if I have a pro-life button on, are they going to come and attack me? I mean, it's, it's crazy. It really is crazy. Well, it is crazy. And you're right that it's going to affect all of our, uh, liberty.
[00:27:36] And you just mentioned that it's going to affect the ability to, to get into a hotel when public, when events with public officials are happening, it may well be that public officials aren't willing to go do events in hotels again. We don't know the, the fallout from that, but if that, if that happens, that affects both the left and the right, it's going to be a problem for both sides because a new protocol, a new safety protocol will be, will be set up. And right now in this
[00:28:05] environment, I, a new safety protocol has to be set up anyway, because the secret service has to just, they've got to take a step back and realize that they're not dealing with a normal president right now. They're dealing with an extraordinary one. And because he's so extraordinary, he has extraordinary threats to his life and they're going to have to rethink how they handle security for a president who is this extraordinary. Um, yeah. And it affects what you do with your
[00:28:35] events and what I do with our events last summer, when we did that bus tour across the country for what was then the save act, it's now of course, the save America act. When we were in Scottsdale, the very place where I was, when I learned about what, what had happened over the weekend, we, um, our, our bus was vandalized and we had, and we had protesters outside of every single event along
[00:29:01] the way. We wound up having to, we already had security and had low notified local law enforcement. But once our bus was vandalized, we up security and we had to really rethink things. And then the day we finished the day you spoke at our event on the, the lawn of the Capitol, that was the day that Charlie Kirk was assassinated. And since then we've had to rethink security. I'm sure your organization has
[00:29:29] had to rethink security. And we're an organization that started and mostly did events outside. And right now we're not even sure if that's the right thing because of the heightened security risk. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, when you think about it, how vulnerable we are when we're outside on the Capitol, we're planning our, uh, 54th Eagle council, which will be in Nashville in September. And again, we have to now factor in, you know, we're a grassroots organization,
[00:29:58] factor in all kinds of security. All the speakers want to know, are we having independent security? Can they bring their own? And it's like, of course, of course you can. Um, and you know, it's, it's, it's just really shocking. I mean, I, I think when I, when you look at it, that conservatives don't go out there and protest like this because we all have jobs. Um, but when you're funded by George
[00:30:23] Soros to do no Kings rallies and, and go out and protest the save America bus tour, I mean, don't these people have jobs that they have to go to families that they have to care for. Um, but I guess if they're not footing the bill and they're not worried about it because that is their job paid for by George Soros, that they have all the time in the world to do that. Yeah, I, I think that that is right. And then there are, I think that there are people who are being
[00:30:50] paid to do it on the left. And then I think that there are others who have just become there, there are two other types. There's one type who truly, they just disagree and they don't wish harm. And, and, and I know that they exist and I am not saying that every single person on the left is wants, wants violence. So I acknowledge that there are people who just completely disagree with the way that I think, and they're out there exercising their first amendment right. And they
[00:31:18] don't actually want the president or his supporters or people like you and me, Chris dead. Then there are others who I think have just become so completely radicalized by what they're seeing on social media, by the kind of rhetoric that they're hearing from the elected officials at the top, that they jump to these awful conclusions and decide that the actions like what we saw on Saturday
[00:31:43] night are the only way to solve the problem. After all, if you actually believe Trump is Hitler and you think he's capable of the atrocities that Hitler, Hitler committed, you might in a demented way think that taking actions like on Saturday night are, are justified when they certainly are not justified. Absolutely right. And, you know, there are people who just disagree with us and, and that is fine,
[00:32:12] but we know when we look at these rallies that go on, a lot of the signs are pre-printed. They're made up. The organizers of them make it easy for other people to get swept up in the cause. And really, when you look at what this president wants to do, he wants to allow you to keep more of your own money with tax cuts. He wants to make sure that our streets are safe from illegal immigrants, especially criminal illegal
[00:32:39] immigrants who seek to attack and harm and steal, steal resources from our country. These are not radical positions, but what they do end up doing is taking power away from the Washington bureaucrats, the government, and returning it from the people. And I think a lot of people in government who are protesting just don't want to give up that power. They don't want to have
[00:33:09] fewer tax dollars to spend. They don't want to import new voters. They want to be able to have power. And what they see this president and this administration doing is diffusing that power, and it will be harder for them to get it back if the president is successful. Which is why action from the grassroots and from your organization, my organization's organization,
[00:33:34] and other groups like ours is so important. Chris, stay with me. We're going to take a quick break, and then we're going to go to legislative fixes and calls to action that our grassroots can take.
[00:33:47] We continue. A word about something you can do right now to defend this country.
[00:34:52] Call your senators. The number is on your screen. It's 202-224-3121. Tell them to pass the Save America Act and fully fund the Secret Service and the Department of Homeland Security. Now back to Chris Ullman. Chris, the Secret Service falls under the Department of Homeland Security, which the Democrats in Congress have refused to fund for 73 days. I've advocated for government shutdowns in the past, and they can be helpful in conveying your message,
[00:35:21] but I have never advocated for unlimited, endless, never-ending shutdowns. At some point at Tea Party Patriots Action, we've always known there must be a landing page, landing pad where we can safely land and continue to fight another day. The Democrats are completely ignoring the consequences of their shutdown. They don't care. Chris, what do you think should happen when it comes to funding the Secret Service, TSA,
[00:35:51] Customs and Border Patrol, and ICE agents? Well, let me say this. When we talk about those agencies in the Department of Homeland Security, obviously it is extremely important. The Department of Homeland Security. We're talking about the Coast Guard, TSA, Border Patrol, ICE, all these things, Secret Service that keep our country safe, keep our elected officials safe. But the other thing is, and as a pro-family group,
[00:36:18] we are talking about hundreds of thousands of Americans who are not getting paid, who are getting up and going to work and committing and, you know, performing vital work for America's safety. And the Democrats are refusing to pay them. We're talking about moms and dads and grandmas and brothers and sisters. And that is simply unacceptable.
[00:36:44] It is unacceptable in this country that the Democrats will hold hostage the paychecks of American people that prevent people from putting gas in their car and food on their table. So number one, these people need to be funded. Obviously, Eagle Forum were very upset about stripping ICE and CPP out of the larger bill. We thought that it should be all kept together.
[00:37:11] It's very important to have procedures and structures that everybody knows how everything operates. By doing that, they became real political footballs. And so I do support refunding for just opening back up the whole Department of Homeland Security. It needs to be done immediately.
[00:37:33] And Democrats need to be held accountable for the fact that they are basically putting every single American at risk by not funding these things. And, you know, they that is their job. If Congress has one job, it's to provide funding for the government. I mean, really, fundamentally, that's the bottom line. And they can't even do it.
[00:37:56] And so when we talk about they like to talk about domestic terrorists, what are you doing? Why are you holding things up? You call Trump a dictator. But yet Democrats, you have shut down Congress for months. You won't let anything pass. Complete obstructionist on no compromise. No, give us five amendments. Let's meet in the middle. It's a full blown. They won't do anything.
[00:38:25] And it's really sad. And they really need to change. Yeah, it is really sad. And ironically, if we can even I don't even know if that is the right word at the moment to use. But they say, as you said, Trump is a dictator or Trump is a king. And yet they're using legislative power to prevent him from taking action. If he were a king, if he truly were a king or a dictator, we wouldn't have to worry about Congress passing a bill to fund the government.
[00:38:55] We wouldn't have to worry about Congress passing the bill to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security. So they undermine the very arguments they claim to make, which is all the more reason they really do need to tone down that rhetoric and be a bit more factual with their base. They have to be at least a little bit intellectually honest. But they refuse to do it because they think ginning up the base, lying to the base is the way they can score political points because all they care about is regaining control and power.
[00:39:26] It's it's actually quite disgusting. Chris, Eagle Forum has fought for decades for secure border borders. Explain to someone watching today why funding the Department of Homeland Security, especially ICE and Customs and Border Patrol, is actually the right constitutional path forward. Well, I like to say that. We have laws and we should follow them, and if we don't like them, we should change them.
[00:39:56] So while we have immigration laws and believe me, our immigration laws are not perfect, but we do have laws that call on the federal government to secure our borders, to prevent illegal immigrants from crossing it. And we need to enforce those laws while they're on the books as we work to maybe improve them, maybe rewrite them. What Democrats want to do and what they're telling their supporters to do is that if we get out there and we have enough protests,
[00:40:24] we can stop the laws from being enforced. And I think that's very dangerous. And, you know, I think it was CBS that ran a story over the weekend. And it was a great story about Eagle Pass, Texas. And they went down there and they showed the river, Eagle Pass, the fact that there was nobody streaming across. And then they showed video of, you know, four, three, four years ago during a Biden administration,
[00:40:49] when they said up to three illegal immigrants were dying a day by drowning in the river. And so by enforcing our strong borders, not only are we protecting American citizens, but we're preventing three deaths of illegal immigrants every single day. I mean, this that video to me was gold. Like we need to put that everywhere.
[00:41:14] Show the American people what this president has done when he's enforcing our borders, why we need to support Border Patrol and because we're saving lives of everybody. And we're enforcing the law, which is the executive's constitutional duty. Those are really good points. Enforcing the law is actually the humane thing to do. Allowing the lack of law.
[00:41:42] So lawlessness, ignoring the rule of law and going for lawlessness, it does lead to death. As you were just pointing out, it leads to human trafficking. It leads to horrible, horrible things being done to women, especially, and children as well. And by securing the border, it helps prevent those things from happening. And people who want to come to this country lawfully still are able to do so.
[00:42:09] Yes. And, you know, immigration has been, immigration reform has been a tough issue for decades in our country. And I think the most important thing we can do is promote a civil debate where each side gets to lay out their position on this and why. And I think what President Trump has done in the last year, year and a half, is so beautiful because Biden said he, we couldn't secure the border until the law was changed. And Trump came in and he said, no, we have the laws.
[00:42:39] We just need to enforce them. And that kind of transparency, that kind of honesty really helps us as we move forward on the debate of maybe there need to be fundamental changes or small changes to our immigration system. But what would happen if we enforce the law as written? And we need to know that before we can have a debate on what needs to be changed. That is exactly right.
[00:43:04] And I would contend we do not need amnesty for the people who've entered this country illegally in doing so. And in even having the debate about amnesty, it encourages more people to come here because they think if they break the law, as long as they get over the border, they're eventually going to be given a legal pathway to citizenship, which is amnesty. Yes. And I will say that as a mom, and I know you're a mom,
[00:43:30] I have a lot of compassion for the, especially all the moms around the world who are literally dying to come to the United States. I mean, it says something about our country. The left may say we're a terrible country, but show me another country where so many people try to come here legally and especially illegally. Um, but as a mom, I know that if you reward illegal behavior, you'll get more of it.
[00:43:56] So while I have great compassion, I know that we can't be a country of laws if we just ignore the law because that only promotes more lawlessness and nobody wants to live in a lawless country. No, exactly right. All right, Chris, let's shift gears just a little bit to another topic. We both care a lot about. You spoke at Tea Party Petrieot's actions rally for the Save America Act on the Capitol grounds in September.
[00:44:23] That was part of our 18-state bus tour. The Save America Act will require proof of citizenship to register to vote and voter ID when casting a ballot on Election Day. It passed the House on April 10th. And first it passed in 2025, it passed. Then it passed again this year on April 28th.
[00:44:50] And it's been 76 days since the Save America Act passed the House of Representatives this year. Yet no vote for it on the floor in the United States Senate, despite the fact that 83% of Americans support these issues, 92% of Republicans, 73% of Democrats, 82% of independents. This is just—it is an issue that Americans actually agree on.
[00:45:16] Chris, what can citizens do today to help pass the Save America Act? I think the most important thing you can do is call your senators, especially the Democrats and those that are wavering. Call the Republicans who are supporting it. Thank them for their support. So, so important. Especially senators love to have their ego, you know, stroked a little bit, love to know that they're on the right path. They want to hear from people.
[00:45:43] But I think the Democrats need to hear from the American people. And, you know, the biggest thing you can do is encourage your neighbors, especially those that are Democrats, and support voter ID, to call as well. It is mind-boggling to me how this can have so much public support and be so completely ignored by the Democrats.
[00:46:12] What are they afraid of? These are the very people that wanted us to have COVID passports before we could go anywhere, get on airplanes. Right now, you can't get on an airplane without a passport or a real ID. And these are bills that the Democrats support. And yet suddenly it's too much of a burden to have to show citizenship when you register to vote or to show an ID when you go to vote.
[00:46:40] And you don't even need a passport or a real ID. There are some other options there. But it's just it's mind-boggling to me why they wouldn't do this. They don't have any problem with demanding papers from people for things that they support. And voting is so important. You know, as we talk about immigration, people who come into this country who desire to become citizens, what is the biggest benefit of becoming a citizen? Being able to vote.
[00:47:09] That's why it's so important that only citizens vote, because that's really the benefit of U.S. citizenship. And so it really just we need to pound the Senate hard, especially the Democrats. They need to know that there will be electoral consequences if they do not support this legislation. That's absolutely right. So let's go over that call to action one more time. Call both of your senators. And as Chris said, especially call your Democrat senators.
[00:47:40] The numbers on your screen right now, it's 202-224-3121. Tell them to pass the Save America Act. And while you're at it, go ahead and tell them to fully fund the Secret Service and Department of Homeland Security. Make that call today. And you have to make two calls because you have two United States senators. Chris, let's close with something that's a little bit different today.
[00:48:04] Something that actually is a moment of pride and a reminder why America is still the greatest nation on Earth. King Charles III is making a state visit to the United States from yesterday, April 27th through the 30th. This is the first official state visit of President Trump's second term. Today, April 28th, King Charles addresses a joint session of Congress described as the first time a British king has ever done so.
[00:48:32] The state arrival ceremony on the South Lawn featured a 21-gun salute and 500 U.S. Armed Forces personnel from all six branches of the military. Speaker Johnson issued a statement on the shared heritage of the United States and the United Kingdom. And the king is visiting in honor of America as we approach our 250th anniversary, which was the anniversary breaking free from the British monarchy.
[00:49:01] And yet, look how far we've come today. And we acknowledge they're one of our greatest allies. So, Chris, what today, how is it historic to you and what do you see about the importance of this visit with King Charles? Well, I think it's wonderful that King Charles and Camilla are here. My daughter says she wishes it was Will and Kate because those are her two favorite royals. But we'll take the king and queen.
[00:49:27] And it is amazing that 250 years later, we're celebrating with an acknowledgment from the king and queen. And look, we have a lot to be grateful for when it comes from our shared history of Western civilization with Great Britain.
[00:49:44] leadership, poetry, our art, our system of common law, magna parma, giving, you know, constraining the rights of the monarch is one of our founding documents. And so it is a time to remember our past, to acknowledge our present, a time where we have friendship with the U.K.
[00:50:07] And to look to the future. And I hope the future involves a strong defense of Western civilization by the United Kingdom and also joining us to secure the blessings of liberty around the world.
[00:50:21] And that means a joint protection against the forces that really seek to undermine our Western civilization, democracy, the rule of law. And that means standing with us as we go and try to battle in places like Iran, who are not freedom loving right now, their government.
[00:50:45] And so I hope that this is the start of something great. I hope that we can continue our longstanding relationship and work together for a world of peace and unity and for not only both our countries, but the rest of the world as well. I love those comments and I hope that the same can happen. Let's listen to what President Trump said. I think we've got a clip from him from this morning.
[00:51:15] Before we ever proclaimed our independence, Americans carried within us the rarest of gifts, moral courage, and it came from a small but mighty kingdom from across the sea. For nearly two centuries before the revolution, this land was settled and forged by men, women who bore in their souls the blood and noble spirit of the British.
[00:51:40] Here on a wild and untamed continent, they set loose the ancient English love of liberty and the great Britain's distinctive sense of glory, destiny and pride. That's what it is. Glory, destiny and pride. Chris, what did you think when you heard that clip from from President Trump?
[00:52:02] You know, I'm so grateful to the president for saying that because as we celebrate America 250, it's so important to remember where we came from and to remember who we are. And I think there's so many issues swirling around right now, immigration and the SAVE Act and, you know, Iran and other things that we really need to spend some time with our declaration, learning about the founding fathers, that destiny that is America.
[00:52:31] And so it actually fills me with pride, patriotism. And, you know, I'm really glad that this is happening at this time. It's a great reminder that we live in the greatest country in the world and we have something worth fighting for. And I know at Tea Party Patriots and an Eagle Forum, we are united in fighting for those American ideals. You are so right about that. And it would be a perfect moment for me to close. But I'm going to tell you one thing that is breaking.
[00:52:59] Fox News, as of six minutes ago, is reporting that they that one of the reporters has been told that the former FBI director, James Comey, has been indicted again this time for the 8647 post that he had in light of the this. I started to say third, but I think it might actually be fourth assassination attempt of President Trump this past weekend.
[00:53:24] What do you think of if it is indeed correct that that what Fox News is reporting that Comey has been indicted again for the 8647 post? What do you think of that? Well, I think the rule of law is finally working. And I know that earlier today, one of Fauci's associates was also indicted. And, you know, the wheels of justice move slowly, but they do move. And I'm happy about that.
[00:53:53] And, you know, let's put aside the violence that we're seeing everywhere. And let's fight things out either in the legislative chamber or in courtrooms. That is where we should be, quote unquote, fighting, not with guns at White House correspondence dinners. So I look forward to learning more about that. And hopefully justice will be done. Indeed, I hope the same.
[00:54:20] And we'll have to see as more details as more details emerge about that. Chris, thank you so much for being on the show again today. I really love having you as a guest. So thank you very much for being on. Thank you. And everybody celebrate America 250. We live in the greatest country on Earth. Absolutely. And Eagle Forum has spent decades fighting for the things we talked about today. So make sure you go to Eagle Forum at Eagle Forum on X and follow the great work that they are doing.
[00:54:49] If you're not on their email list, sign up and join. They do amazing work and have for years. Before we close, this is the most important 60 seconds of the show because nothing we talked about today matters if you don't pick up the phone. The number is on your screen again one more time. 202-224-3121. Again, 202-224-3121. That is the United States Capitol switchboard. When they answer, connect to each of your senators.
[00:55:19] So call two times. Connect to each of your senators and tell your senator to pass the Save America Act and to fully fund the Secret Service and the Department of Homeland Security. That's it. Two phone calls demanding two things in each phone call. The Save America Act has been sitting in the Senate for 76 days and the Department of Homeland Security has been defunded for 73 days. Someone just tried to kill the president of the United States again.
[00:55:48] He gets up every single day and he fights, fights, fights for what's best for America. Will you join him in the fight? Make those phone calls today. It's pretty simple compared to the work President Trump has to do on our behalf every single day. Again, call those senators 202-224-3121 and tell them to pass the Save America Act and to fully fund the Secret Service and the Department of Homeland Security.
[00:56:15] Today, we cover breaking news that defines this moment in American history. A third assassination attempt, 73 days defunding the agency that protects the president of the United States, 76 days of Senate silence on election integrity, and a British king standing before Congress. Every single one of those stories matters. Each of them is historic.
[00:56:39] You're living in a monumental time in American history, and you have the opportunity to be an active participant setting the course for this nation on the right course for the next 250 years.
