[00:00:14] Welcome to The Jenny Beth Show. Welcome to The Jenny Beth Show. I'm Jenny Beth Martin. About two weeks ago, Scott Presler and I went to Alaska. We visited Fairbanks and also Anchorage. While we were there, we were advocating for the Save America Act. The scenery was beautiful. The weather was great for Alaska. It was still a little cold in the evening, but it was beautiful during the daytime.
[00:00:38] As beautiful as Alaska is and as wonderful as the weather was, the crowds had greeted us and the enthusiasm for election integrity and for President Trump's agenda far exceeded the natural beauties Alaska had to wonder. I'm in D.C. today working again on the Save America Act, and I'll be back on Monday live. But right now, take a look at what happened in Alaska while we were there in this episode. Well, gosh, Fairbanks, Alaska.
[00:01:09] This is like a small town, this amount of people, right? Because you guys don't have a lot of folks. It's my first time in your state, and thank you for welcoming me. I was just in Idaho. I was just in Arizona. I was just in Virginia. I was just in Texas. I was just in Florida. But I had to make time for the 49th state.
[00:01:37] Now, many of you might know me from Pennsylvania. Yes, I did move to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and bought a house just to vote for Donald J. Trump. But I'm here for another reason, because you guys are a conservative state. We have a Republican governor. We have two Republican senators.
[00:02:03] And yet we can't pass a significant piece of legislation that the American people demand. And that is so necessary in the great state 49. I'm going to say a couple pieces of legislation. And based on what you know about it, I either want you to cheer or give me a plaz or even boo. And if you don't know the legislation, you don't have to say anything.
[00:02:31] Because I want members of Congress that see this to know what the people of Alaska actually care about. So piece of legislation number one. The Road to Housing Act. You guys don't know what that is. See, Congress, they don't know. They don't know what it is. The Dignity Act. No, that's amnesty. We don't want that one. The Save America Act.
[00:03:06] So clearly, Congress needs to get its act together. Now, I will say the House is doing its job. I have nothing bad to say about Speaker Mike Johnson. He is one of the most narrow majorities in American history. And yet, he's able to pass legislation and pass the Save America Act 218 to 213. Now, where do we stand with Save America?
[00:03:30] Well, we tried to attach the Save America Act to the budget reconciliation package. It failed 48 to 50. Four Republican senators voted against attaching Save America to the budget reconciliation. They were. They were. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky. Tom Tillis of North Carolina.
[00:04:00] Susan Collins of Maine. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska. And it's unfortunate because the American people, 84% of us demand it. And if we can't pass legislation that 84% of us agree with, what are we going to get done? Nothing. So I'm here for two reasons.
[00:04:29] One, this November, because of the grassroots, because of you. And I'm looking at people like Kelly. Where are you? Oh, Kelly. Barbara, your work on this initiative as well. Thank you to every person that got repealing ranked choice voting on the ballot for this November. Thank you, the grassroots. This is called ballot initiative number two.
[00:04:58] And if you vote yes in the affirmative to it by a majority vote, a plurality vote, you will repeal ranked choice voting for the 2028 presidential Alaskan elections. Now, my great state 49. When is Lisa Murkowski up for election?
[00:05:24] So if we do our job and we repeal our CV, I hear a governor by the name of Dunleavy might be running for the United States Senate against Murkowski in 2028. This is the way that we have to think. We have to be forward thinking. We have to be methodical. We have to be strategic.
[00:05:49] And in order for us to have a successful 2028, it starts this year. I also firmly support your two petitions on the table. One, you're a state of 700,000 people. There is no reason why we can't hand count our own ballots in the great state 49. You have 700,000 people.
[00:06:15] Why are we splitting up our local elections to go in October instead of having all of the elections when there will be more people voting in November? I mean, am I speaking common sense? I know I look like a liberal, but I'm not.
[00:06:46] This is they were like, Scott, are you going to be cold when you come to Alaska? I was like, bro, I have a built in fur coat. I'm good. And after y'all, I will be heading to Anchorage, Alaska. But I had to come to the first city, and that was Fairbanks. I want you to know you are seen. You are heard. You are valued. You are acknowledged.
[00:07:15] And where I go, it brings national attention for the entire country to see you, the people of Fairbanks, Alaska. But I need your help because I will be leaving at some point, and I don't want this enthusiasm to dip. I don't want it to wane. I need you. Connect with people like Rackin' Ruby right here in the front.
[00:07:44] Connect with Barbara and Kelly and Shelly. Notice, women. Women are the backbone of our Republican Party. And speaking of women, I do want to clear up a couple things because if anyone has a relationship with Senator Murkowski, please, I say this earnestly. I know that I have been an attack dag lately, and I don't mean to go rabid. That's not my intent.
[00:08:12] But I want people to know there has been miscommunication on the Save America Act. In its current form, the only thing that it does is require proof of citizenship and photo voter ID. Now, some people, the Democrats, think that women are incapable, for some whatever reason, of getting an ID. And so I especially, I know we have men in the audience, but this is to our women.
[00:08:40] Women, especially married women, do you know where your birth certificate is? Women, do you know where your marriage certificate is? Women, is there anything upon the passage of the Save America Act that would stop or prohibit you from voting this year? So please, can I get your commitment that you will call once a day until we pass the Save America Act into law?
[00:09:08] That number is 202-224-3121, or that one that Ruby said. But the one for the switchboard is 3121. So, yes, 202. I'm going to get it tattooed on my forehead. 202-224-3121.
[00:09:32] That is the Capitol Senate switchboard for the entire United States Senate, including Sullivan, including Baggage, who we need to keep here in Alaska. No Peltola. So with that being said, my partner in crime over here, I do want to welcome, and we're going to take Q&A afterwards,
[00:09:54] but can we please welcome to Fairbanks, Alaska, Jenny Beth Martin of Tea Party Patriots. Thank you. Thank you so much. Let's just give it up for Scott Pressler one more time. He is so amazing.
[00:10:19] Okay, so I'm going to tell you a little bit about the history of the Save America Act and elaborate on what Scott was talking about. But before I get into that, I want to talk about what happened last weekend on Saturday night. Scott and I were in Arizona in Scottsdale, and he was giving the speech, and I got a text message through Signal, and it said that shots have been fired at the dinner in D.C.
[00:10:46] And at first I thought it said diner, and I'm quickly looking to figure out what happened. And I got on X, and I realized shots have been fired at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. And went and got information and was able to verify it. You never know if what you're seeing on social media these days is true or not, but I was able to verify it because C-SPAN had footage of what had just happened.
[00:11:10] And as we all have learned since then, there were shots at the dinner that President Trump and many members of the cabinet and the vice president and the speaker of the House were all attending. The third assassination attempt on the greatest president in our lifetime, Donald J. Trump. And we're not clapping for the third assassination attempt, but let's do clap.
[00:11:38] But we can clap, and we should, because I know where that was coming from. He is the greatest president we've had in our lifetimes. And I think he ranks up there with the founding fathers in Abraham Lincoln. And of course, like all of you, I was horrified to see this, and I had to go be the bearer of the news after Scott had spoken and tell the audience what had happened.
[00:12:06] And then I thought a lot about it that evening and into the next morning, and I've been thinking about it all week. This is, we're living in historic, amazing historic times. President Trump won re-election twice, because I would, you know, officially Biden was the president, and officially Biden won.
[00:12:30] But President Trump was re-elected to the second term against absolutely all odds. Absolutely all odds. Absolutely all odds. On January 20th, 2021, no one, well, maybe a few of us, but not a lot of people thought President Trump would ever be president again. And as he was running in 2024, he had two assassination attempts.
[00:12:57] And I think that, and all of the targeting, and all of the lawsuits, and all of the lawfare, and the indictments, and I'm from Georgia. Georgia, originally our office is in Georgia, and just everything that happened to him in Fulton County, Georgia. Horrible. And this man, after he is literally shot, he gets up and he yells, fight, fight, fight.
[00:13:23] After the second attempt, and we know this because Speaker Johnson has posted about it, he was with Speaker Johnson in Florida and Mar-a-Lago, and they talked a lot about his place in history. They talked a lot about God. They talked a lot about the meaning of life that day. And I think that everything we have been watching him do since he became re-elected is an absolute 100% commitment to what is best for America.
[00:13:52] He loves this country. He does not have to be president again. He could have just gone off into the sunset. He didn't have to challenge the outcome of the elections when we all saw the problems in 2020. He could have just very politely and neatly put everything away and been gracious and walked away. I would say stealing an election is not gracious, but the point is he could have done all of that. And instead he stood up and he fought.
[00:14:19] And he's made it clear that he is trying to make America great again. And when he says he puts America first, I believe him because he could have done anything other than what he's doing right now. And last weekend, when there was another attempt in his life, what did he do? He decides he was trying to go back into that room where shots had been fired and continue the dinner.
[00:14:49] And the next morning I heard him say, it's because I don't want this to change the country. He's willing to risk everything and put himself on the line because he loves our country so much. And I travel this country and I am in Washington, D.C. a few times a month, which I would say is a few times too many. Really don't like being there. And I get into Washington, D.C. and there are these people who are on Capitol Hill or work around Capitol Hill or consultants or whatever.
[00:15:19] And they are acting as if November's election is decided and that the Republicans will lose the majority control in the House and the Senate. And they're trying to figure out how they manipulate everything so they have some power left while they're in the minority. And here's what I think the best way to ensure you have power after November, after the elections, on Election Day in November, is to exercise your power right now and keep your promises, do what you said you're going to do,
[00:15:47] and then people will re-elect you. It's pretty simple. Then you don't have to worry about what you're going to do in the minority and you can figure out what else you can do in the majority. And that's part of the reason that we are here. I have not given up on November and I, like President Trump, am not giving up on our country.
[00:16:07] My organization, Tea Party Patriots, was targeted by the IRS. And if you donated to Tea Party groups back then in 2010 through 2013, you were six times more likely to be individually audited by the IRS.
[00:16:35] We had groups that the IRS was asking for the list of membership, the back-end access to the website, contents of prayers, spoken at meetings, list of books that people had. They wanted names of donors that they had no business asking for and no legal right to whatsoever. And we stood up to it. There were some groups who simply had to fold because they could not afford the financial obligation
[00:17:02] that it took a volunteer to defend themselves against the IRS. But we continued standing. And I went through that and I was like, I am not backing down. I'm not going to be intimidated. The weaponization against our organization, the weaponization against me personally, against our donors, I am not stopping. I love this country too much to stop. And I continue to feel the exact same way.
[00:17:29] And it's easy to do now because we have a president who has had the same kind of thing happen to him and he never, ever backs down. So now it brings us to the Save America Act. And I'm going to give you a very brief history of how we got where we are today. So some of you, hopefully you do know Cleta Mitchell, who has started the Election Integrity Network. She was President Trump's attorney,
[00:17:59] one of his attorneys down in Georgia in 2020. And I volunteered on President Trump's legal case back in 2020. I'm not an attorney, just good at organizing people. So I helped match complaints with volunteer attorneys to get affidavits that were used in the lawsuit. She started the Election Integrity Network. She is one of the best election attorneys that we have on the center right. She is a committed conservative and she is my friend
[00:18:29] and also a mentor to me and to so many other people in the group. We were in the movement. We were on a call in a meeting with Senator Mike Lee and I was on by conference call. And she started talking about all of these problems in the election system in Arizona specifically. You see, in Arizona, they require proof of citizenship to register to vote. It was a ballot initiative. And they've had this for well over a decade.
[00:18:58] And they got challenged and it went all the way to the Supreme Court. And the Supreme Court came in and ruled that, yes, they can require proof of citizenship to register to vote if you are voting in statewide elections, in state and local elections. But if you require it, you cannot require it for federal office. You can have it, but you cannot require it because they must accept the National Voter Registration Act,
[00:19:28] which we think of as a motor voter law, the form to register to vote from that. That form simply requires a check mark saying you are a citizen, not proof of citizenship. Yes, I am a citizen. You sign it, you check it, and that's it. You must accept it because that stems from federal law. And federal law is the supreme law of the land. So here's what happens in practicality because of that lawsuit that went to the Supreme Court.
[00:19:58] And the judges and the justices did the right thing because they did not create new law from the bench. And I am a conservative. I do not think that we need new law from the bench. You interpret the law. If the law doesn't work, you go fix the law through the legislative process so that we have the ability to hold the people accountable, which is what we're trying to do now. So here's what it means in practicality in Arizona. You, if you've proven that you're a citizen,
[00:20:26] you get your ballot and you can vote for president, senate, congress, governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general, school board, state rep, all the way down to their most local office, which is actually precinct committee man, all the way down. If, however, you have not shown proof of citizenship in a border state, mind you, you still are able to get a ballot and vote for president, senate, and congress.
[00:20:56] Mike, this is completely wrong. It affects the electoral college. It affects the makeup of congress. It affects the makeup of the senate. And they are a border state. The border is completely insecure at the time it was. And this is a huge problem. So this is back in 2024, in January, 2024. And I knew about these problems since 2021 and had been working on it. Cletus talking about it. Senator Mike Lee is on the call. I text message Mike Lee and I say,
[00:21:26] we've got to pass a law to fix this because it could affect the outcome of our election. This is wrong. It affects every American. This is a border state. It is wrong. And they have 43,000 people who can get these ballots where they haven't proven citizenship. So he starts working on a bill. And he worked on the bill with Congressman Chip Roy and also with the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson. Mike Johnson went and we did polling from Tea Party Patriots Action, gave that to Speaker Johnson.
[00:21:56] He showed it to the president. The president supported the effort. They called it the Save America Act. They called it the Save Act. And at the time it handled proof of citizenship to register to vote. And that was all that it was doing. Then it expanded to handle voter ID. They passed it in 2024. It went nowhere. And Joe Biden was president. So it would have been very difficult to pass it into law, even if they'd gotten it through the Senate. Then last year in 2025, the House of Representatives passed it again.
[00:22:25] And it went to the Senate where it again died and it went nowhere. And then we did a bus tour all over the country from California to North Carolina and from Wisconsin to D.C. And we're ginning up support for this bill. Then in January of this year, the House took it up again. And Congressman Brian Stile from Wisconsin
[00:22:55] championed this effort along with Speaker Johnson and Chip Roy. And they added on voter ID. Now, the way that they did this is the Senate had passed a bill. And it was a veterans bill. So they passed the bill. They sent it over to the House of Representatives. The House stripped everything out of that bill, put an amendment in. And the amendment is the Save America Act. And that included the voter registration and voter ID, the proof of citizenship for voter registration,
[00:23:25] voter ID. They sent it back over to the Senate. And in the Senate, then because of the way they handled it, because it went from the Senate to the House and back, it was considered a message. So it did not require 60 votes to get debate open on the bill. Normally it does because of cloture. Senator Mike Lee was pushing for a talking filibuster where once it was open, you would have to debate the bill until the time ran out. And the way the time would run out
[00:23:54] in a talking filibuster is that each senator would be able to speak as long as they're physically able, we choose speeches. And as long as they don't lean on anything, leave the chamber or sit down. So that means, you know, at some point they're going to run out of time. It might be 36 hours if they somehow have a lot of stamina, but at some point they would run out of time. The parliamentarian said that wasn't going to work. And I think part of the reason for it was all these amendments,
[00:24:21] it could be on even if the amendments were not germane. And so it opened debate, but it wasn't a talking filibuster the way that we wanted. To close debate, because it isn't the talking filibuster, we have to have 60 votes to end the debate. That means we need all of the Republicans plus a handful of Democrats voting for it. And then you would need the vote for the final passage.
[00:24:50] So what we want, what I really would like to see the Senate do is to overrule the parliamentarian, allow for the talking filibuster, debate the bill till it ends, pass it with a simple majority, and make sure that Senator Murkowski votes for this bill. Now I've listened to Murkowski, and this is the last thing I'm going to say and then we're going to open it up for Q&A. But I've listened to Senator Murkowski on the floor. And I think that she,
[00:25:19] and you know your state better than I know your state. I have been here in the wintertime, here to Fairbanks to watch the Northern Lights, which are God's gift to humanity. And you live in a very special place where you get to see that all winter long. I know it's incredibly cold, but my goodness to see that. There's a painting, right? It's just gorgeous. My whole team knows. Every time the KP index is high, I'm like, do you think we might be able to see it, even if we're in Miami?
[00:25:49] But you get to see it. So anyway, she says that because of the nature of your state and what happens when you're frozen in and people are not able to get in, to turn in that proof of citizenship, your birth certificate, in person, she thinks it creates an unfair disadvantage for people in Alaska. Now, I understand. And there are some people who agree and some people who don't. I've talked to a few people here today
[00:26:18] and other places. Here's what I would say to that. You know your state better than I do. If that is truly an issue, what I thought of is, why not make it the same as the payment that you get from the pipeline? That requires proof of citizenship to get it or permanent residency, so proof of permanent residency. You can hand that in in person or you can mail it in with a self-addressed return envelope. And once they verify it, they ship it back out to you.
[00:26:47] They mail it back out to you. So that's how they're able to overcome that issue if you are living in a remote area, completely alone, and you can't travel, right? There's a way to get around it. Maybe my solution isn't the best. Maybe you have a better solution. This is your state. What I would urge you to do when you're calling Senator Murkowski, and I'm taking her at her word, and I'm granting her a little bit of leeway here, but if she was sincere when she got on the floor
[00:27:14] of the Senate and said she was opposed to it because she's looking out to you, give her a solution. Tell her what you think the solution should be, and tell her you want to see this bill passed and you want her to figure out how she's going to do it, looking out for Alaskans, and get to yes. And it's that simple. And look, that may mean that Alaska, there's a special amendment to the bill that covers your state. Well, okay, that's the nature of legislating.
[00:27:44] Deal-making happens, and President Trump is the greatest deal-maker of all times. So encourage her to go figure out how to get to yes. Tell her you want this bill passed because it helps your state, and it also helps ensure that across the entire country, your vote here and your vote in the United States Congress and in the United States Senate is not canceled out because some other state is allowing non-citizens to vote, and it's affecting the majority in the House
[00:28:13] and the Senate because of non-citizens. Let's get this done. Now, I've told you about the issues that we've had, and it's in the Senate, and it's at a place where we continue to work on it every single day. I am not giving up on this piece of legislation any more than I am giving up on our country. I am not doing it. And I think when it comes
[00:28:42] to this piece of legislation, when it comes to conservatives controlling the House of Representatives and the Senate, when it comes to making sure that there are not people in the House who on day one in January of next year will impeach President Trump and start impeaching members of his cabinet, not stopping just with him, not giving up on that. I'm working day in and day out to make sure that we protect that majority
[00:29:11] and we protect the vote that we cast two years ago or a year and a half ago in 2024 when we voted for Trump. Because I can tell you something, our own vote for President Trump will be canceled out if we're fighting impeachment in nine months from now. I do not want that, and I know none of you want it either. I'm going to do what President Trump said for our country and for this bill every single day between now and November, and then again
[00:29:40] for the rest of his term. And that is, I am going to fight, fight, fight for America. Thank you so much. And now Scott and I are going to take questions from you and he'll make his way back up here. But what we can go ahead and do, if you've got questions, go ahead and ask them and then I'll help answer them and he'll be up as soon as he finishes with that person.
[00:30:09] So does anyone have any questions? No questions? Anyone? Oh, well, thank you. All right. Do you have any questions? Okay, then what we're going to do is we're going to close out. Go meet Scott and me. We're available for questions one-on-one and we are happy to do photos and just spend more time with you. Alaska and Fairbanks, thank you so much. I love your state and I love you. A special treat
[00:30:39] at the Save America Act rally. It is Bernadette Wilson. She's running for governor of the great state of Alaska and one of those who sponsored that special thing you're voting on. Yes on number two to get rid of that ranked choice voting. Tell us about that fight and how we need to get rid of this scourge when it comes to Alaska's integrity in the elections. You know, I tell people you have never seen something that is so discriminatory, so disenfranchising
[00:31:08] and so divisive as ranked choice voting. You know, it was incredible. It came on the ballot the first time. They sold Alaskans just a complete line of falsehoods that if you were in the military you weren't going to be able to vote if we repealed it, that it was going to get rid of all this money, you know, dark money funding. I think Alaskans see past that now. They realize that it is incredibly divisive. They realize that it's disenfranchising voters if there's any sort of language barrier. The ballot's very complicated. When you look at it, it's hard to figure out. You have voters that are confusing.
[00:31:38] They're going to rank in a primary, not realizing you're only going to rank in a general. And so it's incredibly important that when it comes to election integrity, transparency, and having a timely election that we absolutely repeal ranked choice voting here. Talk to us about your commitment to really having that strong Republican presence on that general election because there's 13 candidates right now. It's a big competition. We love competition, but like you said, so many Republican, Democrat, independent voters and third-party movements
[00:32:08] throughout the great state of Alaska don't know for days, weeks, months who their elected officials are and it frustrates everyone. It absolutely does. You know, we saw this in 2024 with the election of Congressman Nick Begich. So the congressman gets elected. We didn't know for so many weeks that there was concern that Nick wasn't going to be able to go to D.C. to pick out an office to go through all the freshman trainings. And so we saw that at that moment. Very difficult. Here in Alaska, of course, your governor, when the governor swears in, you only have about a week and a half,
[00:32:37] two weeks until that first budget is due. So if you delay knowing who your governor is, your governor comes in incredibly handicapped. We were the very first campaign and so far the only campaign to make the commitment that if we are not the top vote getter in that primary in August, we will get out of that race and we will support whomever it is the electorate chooses as their top Republican. So I think it's incredibly important that Republicans come together, even though ranked choice voting will be the law of the land. I think it's incredibly important
[00:33:07] that we support whoever is the top vote getter, that we do not split up the votes headed into the general election. We can't split up the finances, we can't split up the grassroots and we cannot send our governor into that office without the strongest mandate possible. And the only way that we can do that, to have that mandate, to have the finances, to have the grassroots is for all of us to pull behind one person as we head into that general election. And so you know what? We've got ranked choice. It's going to be up to the electorate and all of us to pull together
[00:33:36] and take the higher road and make sure that happens. We issued a statement to the other candidates in this race last August. So a year out, asked them all to make the same commitment. I hope that they will indeed jump on. No one's taken us up on it yet, but hopefully we'll get there. Important to do as well for those viewers not familiar throughout the lower 48. The legislature in Juneau, very unique. Although you have more Republicans right now, you have Republicans caucusing with Democrats on some occasions. I believe it's two right now in the House,
[00:34:06] if I'm not mistaken. So then it puts Democrats in the majority, even though you have more Republicans than Democrats. Share with the audience and the viewers some of that because it's a little bit unique compared to the rest of the United States. It is. You know, you have Donald Trump who won Alaska by more than 10 points. More Republicans in both the House and the Senate elected, but you're right, Democrats control both bodies. And so some of that is due to the fact that, of course, you have this open primary system now. It makes it incredibly difficult if you want to hold a legislator accountable
[00:34:35] to the campaign promises that they made, the commitments that you thought that they made. Ranked choice voting completely handicaps the electorate from being able to do that. And you're seeing that right now. Yes. Yes, you are seeing that vividly right here in the great state of Alaska and Anchorage, Alaska itself. 40 percent of the entire state living here, if I remember my statistics from when I was a city beat reporter right on these grounds talking to a very purple city right now. So you have a unique, a diverse state,
[00:35:05] perhaps the most diverse in the entire country. Truly a wilderness. If you go up the Chugach for those hiking fans, you'll realize looking down at the Muni that, wow, it's in the midst of God's country. Why Bernadette Wilson ultimately for governor of the great state of Alaska? You know, I was born and raised here. My grandmother was born in the village of Knacknick and this state, you know, my great uncle was Governor Wally Hickel who served as governor twice here. And as I looked around Alaska, it became unrecognizable. And the reality is
[00:35:35] when you look at Alaska's strategic location, when you look at the ability that we have to power the rest of the country when it comes to oil and gas and the minerals, there's no other state in the country that can boast that. And you know, if you look at our national security, and I would make the argument that one of the greatest threats to our national security is our dependence on foreign oil and for our energy sources, Alaska has the ability to power the rest of the country. We can go, we can drive, it's a beautiful state and we will no doubt lead this country.
[00:36:04] I tell people all the time the president says this will be the golden age of America. We are going to make sure those history books are just completely filled with stories about Alaska. And those stories dating back to 1959 when it became the 49th state, but even prior to that as a territory, Seward's Folly, well, they were wrong about that. And we look forward to the continued legacy that you're seeking to serve. Thank you so much for joining us today and God bless you on your rest. God bless, thank you. One vote, one person.
[00:36:33] We need to get rid of the machines too. I'm just going to throw that out there. The machines got to go. We need to go to hand count, paper ballots. It's a lot cheaper too. I mean, and yeah, I mean, there's a lot of work that needs to be done. It's just common sense. You need ID for everything. You need ID to get on a plane. You need ID for hospital, for insurance. You need ID for everything. Shoveling snow in New York City apparently with Mr. Mom Donnie. Oh yeah, to get paid that big money. You need an ID. Funny thing is, then you're telling the world
[00:37:03] you don't need an ID to vote. Come on. You need an ID to get in Congress. Anchorage, Alaska. I was just in McAllen, Texas, in Indiana, in Virginia, in Idaho, in Florida, but I had to stop everything I was doing to come to the 49th state. I had to be here in Alaska. Now today
[00:37:33] is the 123rd day that I have been asking nicely Senate Majority Leader Thune to pass the Save America Act. Guys, I don't know about you, but I'm a little frustrated because you know what we did in 2024? And if there's a Democrat that snuck in, I want to trigger them for a second. We won
[00:38:02] the popular vote on everything. Arizona, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Alaska. We won it all. And man, that felt really good. And thank you for flipping that Alaskan
[00:38:31] seat back into Republican hands. You did that. And yet, my friends, here we have our beloved 45th and 47th president, and we have a Republican House, and we have a Republican Senate, and yet we are stalled in the United States Senate. And I want to make it clear, Speaker Mike Johnson,
[00:39:01] I've actually been very impressed by him. He's doing a good job. He passed 218 to 213 the Save America Act, and he kept his promise in the House of Representatives and baggage voted for the Save America Act representing Alaska. And yet,
[00:39:30] with 53 Republican senators, a majority, we are not able to pass what 84% of Americans demand and expect. And this is a problem. This isn't something that we are making up. This is not a conspiracy. Did you know in the great state of North Carolina, the State Board of Elections implemented the Save System, which is what
[00:40:00] the Save America Act calls for. That's the systematic alien verification for entitlements. I know, right? I'm not just cute. I have a good memory, too. I'm just kidding. They found from implementing the State Act, 34,000 dead voters on the North Carolina voter rolls. So no, this is an issue. And again, I want every vote to count,
[00:40:30] and I want every voter, no matter how they vote, to be able to have confidence that their vote is going to count. That's all I'm asking for. Because we tried to attach the Save America Act to the budget reconciliation, meaning we could have passed the budget with Save America Act with a simple majority vote, a simple 51 votes, my friends. And we had four Republican senators vote
[00:41:00] against attaching the Save America Act. They are, number one, from the state of North Carolina, where we found 34,000 dead voters on voter rolls. Tom Tillis voted no, Senator of North Carolina. And Kentucky, a beautiful, I like saying beautiful, because it's kind of like a preface when you say like, I'm sorry, but.
[00:41:32] Our beautiful Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell voted against attaching the Save America. Save America Act. Susan Collins of Maine voted against attaching the Save America Act. And now, Alaska, Senator Lisa Murkowski voted against attaching the Save America Act. I can't say it, I'm being respectful, I'm being here.
[00:42:02] And I hear, perhaps, maybe a current governor might be running for the United States Senate in 2020. I'm here for a couple reasons too. If you know any legislators at the state level, I'm an A through C kind of guy. We're going to start with the Save America Act in the federal level, but we're also going to work to pass at the state level. I want you to reach out to your state representative that represents you in
[00:42:32] the House and represents you in the Senate, and you let that person know how much you want this legislation, and you are going to ask them kindly, sponsor or co-sponsor legislation in the state of Alaska to give us proof of citizenship in order to register to vote in the 49th state. And breaking that I haven't traveled out anywhere else yet, as I've been traveling with
[00:43:02] Jenny Beth Martin, I have commitments from legislators in Indiana and Idaho that they are also going to sponsor legislation for proof of citizenship in their respective states. So, Cuban and O'Roscan fingers were writing legislation. I ask you to do that please. the 202-243-121
[00:43:32] respectful message to our senator, to your local state legislative representation as well, and just know that I take this very seriously. I'm not here for fun to be in Alaska. I'm here to be your voice, I'm here to be your advocate. I will immediately be going to Texas after this because I made a promise. Senate Majority Leader Foon, I hate to say it, is letting us down. We are six months away before one of the most consequential midterm elections of our lives.
[00:44:01] Our president, I will never forget this, our president took a bullet for us, and after taking a bullet for us and almost getting assassinated again just days ago, returned to the site of that assassination attempt because he wanted to stand and be a shield for us against every other evil force in the world trying to destroy our country from within. And I don't know about you, but this November, I am going to have President Donald J. Trump's back
[00:44:31] with my vote on Tuesday, November 3rd. And the way that you can do that in February 28th is yes, when we vote to re-elect Congressman Vegas to keep our seat. vote to
[00:45:00] I was leaving and I forgot where I was leaving. Let me go back, see the president is so good in it, I'm not here yet. Let me go back. The reason why, after y'all going to Texas, is I made a commitment that if Senator Majority Leader Phelan didn't give us what we want, by the end of April, his number one ally in the United States Senate, besides our
[00:45:28] beautiful Alaskan Senator Lisa Markowski. I say beautiful, but nice. It's John of Texas. And I tell you, in just a few days, I will be coming out and endorsing Attorney General Ted Paxton. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
[00:46:00] These boots are not just... I will be knocking and stomping the pavement out there, knocking on doors. I make you a commitment right here and out. Let's have Jenny Beth coming, but this is such great energy. I make a promise. If you, this November, defeat ranked choice voting, I promise to return to the great state 49
[00:46:27] for the Alaskan Senate primary in 2028. Alaska! I love you. Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau. And please welcome me with raucous applause for the founder and chairman of Tea Party Patriots, Jenny Beth Martin.
[00:47:02] Alaska, Scott was just talking about how we are entering the most consequential off-year election. It's not off-year, but non-presidential year election. I think that what happened last Saturday night shows the importance of this election. When we watched as President Trump, as there was a third assassination attempt on President Trump, after our dear friend, Charlie Kirk,
[00:47:33] who I had known since he was 19, who Robert worked with as Charlie began in Chicago for five years following him around the country, and who Scott has partnered with on countless different events, was assassinated. I think that it is so important that we understand there are people in this country who, it's obvious, it's so obvious to say this, but they want the president dead,
[00:48:01] they want his supporters dead, and they truly wish that we were not alive. They will do anything they can to try to silence us. And the Democrat Party, we had Hakeem Jeffries the week before, so a week and a half ago, standing in the House of Representatives, doing a press conference, and with a sign, with President Trump on it, and it said, maximum warfare.
[00:48:32] And then we have an attempt on President Trump's life, again, along with, in the same room, the Vice President of the United States, and the Speaker of the House, regardless of the party, the President, the Vice President, the Speaker of the House, members of the White House press conference, none of them deserve to go through what just went happened. None of us deserve to go through what just went happened. What just happened. Hakeem Jeffries comes out this past week,
[00:49:01] and instead of apologizing, and he didn't have to apologize. It's fine. You don't have to apologize. But you could just say, you know, we're going to just kind of ratchet it down a little bit, because the people are, when we see these things, we don't mean violence, and we want to make sure we're not conveying that. What did he do? He just turned up the volume. He turned up the heat. He said, I'm not apologizing for it, and he doesn't give a damn about the people who want him to turn things down.
[00:49:31] He's continuing to gen up his base, continuing to elevate the violence, and they had made it clear that if we do not win in November and hold the majority, the conservative majority in the House, in the Senate, they intend to impeach President Trump, to go after his cabinet, to go after the people who work in the administration. It will be investigation after investigation after investigation.
[00:49:59] It will make 2020 look like child's play. My vote in 2024, when I voted for President Trump for the third time in my life, and he won against all odds, I am not allowing that vote to be canceled out by a bunch of people in this country who are so radical and lack such common sense that they can't see they need to calm down their own base.
[00:50:38] Tea Party Patriots, the Tea Party movement began over 17 years ago. It's hard to believe that it's been 17 years, but it has. And we have made a practice, and it's possible that somebody could go find a social media post where one of our social media team made a mistake. But we have made a practice not to call our political opposition enemies.
[00:51:06] And we've done this very deliberately because we know that the people who vote differently than we do, who have a different idea for the way they want the country to go, that they're our fellow Americans. They might be shopping in the grocery store with us or getting their hair done right next to us. They're the people, it could be our next door neighbor. They're the people who live with us. When we live in the same country together, we cannot think of our fellow Americans as enemies. It's one thing to think of them
[00:51:36] as opposition. It's a different thing to think of them as enemies. And we've worked very hard not to do that. And I'm highlighting this because it's clear the left is not doing the same thing right now. And we have to make sure that as we are engaging that we're following Charlie Kirk's lead. I keep pointing to you because you were the representative today for Charlie Kirk with your amazing Freedom sweatshirt on.
[00:52:02] We have to do what Charlie Kirk did and what Erica Kirk has been saying this past week. And we have to continue to engage in dialogue because that is a way to help prevent violence in this country. And we have to make sure we're not dehumanizing people. And then we have to do what President Trump has done and shown us with his example. He showed us this example
[00:52:32] after he was shot in Butler. And he showed us again last week when he was willing to go back to the White House Correspondence Center and Secret Service asked him not to because the area was not secure. But after he was shot and after last week his attitude for this country is fight, fight, fight.
[00:53:03] And that's why Scott and I are here right now. And that's what we are asking you to do when it comes to the Save America Act. We have to get we have to make sure that there is trust in the outcome of the elections and trust in the outcome of every election every time. And that means this constant vigilance it is constant work to maintain elections and to maintain that trust. But we have to have it because regardless of who the winner in an election is we have to know
[00:53:32] they won fairly and squarely and legitimately. We can accept that. We may not like it but we can accept it. That's what we are trying to do with the Save America Act. We're trying to make sure only American citizens vote in American elections. It's pretty simple. Now let me explain to you why this bill how this bill evolved and how it came about
[00:54:00] and why only American citizens voting in American elections is such a big deal. You see in the state of Arizona they had a proposition I think it's been over two decades ago. They're a border state and they require proof of citizenship to register to vote. It makes sense. They're a border state. They wanted to make sure that only American citizens are voting in their elections and they got sued and it went all the way up to the Supreme Court
[00:54:29] and the Supreme Court ultimately said that they must accept the form from the National Voter Registration Act which we think of as the motor voter law the law that allows us to register to vote when we get our driver's license. So they said you must accept that form because that form stems from the federal law and federal law is supreme law of the land. Apparently the sanctuary cities and states don't understand supreme law
[00:54:58] but that's a story for another day. So they had to accept it. So what this means in practicality and to the Supreme Court's credit they're not saying they think it's great and what happens on that form is it's a simple checkbox and you affirm you are a citizen and you sign your name. You do sign your name under oath but the form cannot be used in any court of law as evidence. So it is a little bit
[00:55:27] yeah I know it doesn't make any sense but that is the way that it is. So you can sign it but it kind of it's just sort of like yeah I'm a citizen sure or you go through and you're checking a box and you're filling everything out you're getting your driver's license and maybe you are here legally and you just don't even realize what you're checking I'm guilty of that I fill out forms I was at a hotel in Fairbanks and they're like sign here initial here I had no idea what it was I finally was like am I giving away my children am I?
[00:55:56] So we all do that sometimes so then simple checkbox so they had to accept it and here's practically in practical terms what it means in Arizona if you show proof of citizenship when you register to vote you get to vote for president senate congress governor lieutenant governor attorney general secretary all the way down to the lowest level which in Arizona is a precinct committee man
[00:56:25] if however you're one of the 43,000 people in the state who has not shown voter ID 43,000 in a border state you get to vote for president senate and congress I think that's crazy and I learned about this in 2021 and I had to have it explained to me several times because it made no sense so in January 2024 I was on a conference call with senator Mike Lee and Cleta Mitchell
[00:56:54] and some other people Cleta Mitchell runs the election integrity network and she was explaining the problems in Arizona to senator Lee and I texted senator Lee and I said we need a bill for this we need to fix this and I said I wound up getting unmuted and I spoke and I said if you work on nothing else this year this is the most important thing you could get done because it can affect our elections going into November and they're a border state and they're a swing state and they won by less than 10,000 they won they won
[00:57:24] in 2020 by less than 10,000 votes so he said yes I'll work on it so he started working on it congressman Chip Roy also started working on it and they developed the SAVE Act the SAVE Act initially was only for proof of citizenship to register to vote I did polling on it well I didn't but Tea Party Patriots Action did polling on it I gave the polling to Speaker of the House Mike Johnson he said I'm on board I will support this he became a co-sponsor
[00:57:53] a huge champion of this legislation he went and talked to President Trump about the legislation I think it may have been the weekend that President Trump that the second assassination attempt on President Trump's life happened but I may be wrong about the timing of that don't hold me to that but he took it down at Mar-a-Lago the President came out and basically announced what the SAVE Act was and then we had a press conference they voted on the SAVE Act and it passed in 2024
[00:58:22] but it died in the Senate and even if it passed in the Senate President Biden likely would not have signed into law you know 99.9% chance so and let's say it attached it to something that was must-pass legislation but that wasn't happening so then in 2025 they go back and they pass it again and it went to the Senate and it just sort of went like a lead balloon and it just landed and it did nothing so last fall last summer
[00:58:52] in August and September we crisscrossed the country we went from California all the way to North Carolina and then from Wisconsin all the way to D.C. in a bus advocating for only citizens voting and now we're in Alaska it's so amazing and then and then this in January Speaker Johnson worked with Congressman Brian Stiles and Congressman Chip Roy
[00:59:21] they added to it voter ID and they passed it again now here's the beauty of what happened when they passed it again which Senator Mike Lee helped with there was a bill in the Senate that dealt with veterans they passed the bill in the Senate and it went over to the House side the House side offered an amendment they wiped out the veteran whatever it was about veterans and added the Save America Act they voted for it and passed it and it went all the way back over to the Senate when that happened it was considered a message
[00:59:51] to the Senate which means when the Senate brought it to a vote on the floor it did not require 60 votes to begin debating it now we thought we were going to be able to talking filibuster it which means that every Senator would be allowed to have two speeches and they can speak as long as they want until they can no longer speak as long as they adhere to three rules no leaning on anything no sitting down and no leaving the floor
[01:00:20] so eventually they would get tired and have to leave they might they might be like Cory Booker and talk you know like for 20 hours or something maybe even 36 hours but at some point they would have to leave that's what we were advocating for the Senate parliamentarian said that the way we wanted it was not allowed by the rules I still don't understand exactly how but basically what it means is the old school film Mr. Smith Goes to Washington that we all learned about the filibuster with
[01:00:50] it doesn't work that way not anymore basically it's all the 60 votes so to end debate now because they were able to avoid the 60 to open it because of the message to end debate and get it to final passage it requires 60 votes it does mean we have to have some Democrats but before we can work on the Democrats we have to get Republicans on board which is why we are here now there is talk
[01:01:19] about adding it to reconciliation 3.0 I don't know if that's going to work or not because reconciliation has all sorts of very strict rules and we'd have to see what happens with a parliamentarian on that there is there is reconciliation one which is one big beautiful bill there is reconciliation two which is funding the Department of Homeland Securities ICE and Customs and Border Patrol then there's reconciliation three which had been planned to be
[01:01:49] reconciliation two which is going to do some other things I don't know what all it's going to do but the House is working on that right now so there's still hope for this which is why what we are doing right now is so important I don't know what's going to happen with reconciliation I don't know what's going to happen exactly in the Senate but I know this like President Trump we have to be determined and committed to do what's right for our country and to put
[01:02:18] America first to give everything we have at all costs in order to not only get this bill passed but to get everything that we care about done and that's why we're here we're not giving up we're not taking no as no we're taking no as not now and so Senator Murkowski has not voted for it yet okay here's the nature of legislating sometimes
[01:02:47] when you legislate you've got a bill and it's got everything we wanted it's a big beautiful bill or a small beautiful bill it's a beautiful bill and and we have a president who's the greatest negotiator in the world that's what legislating is about there's negotiating so Senator Murkowski I listened to her floor speech opposing the Save America Act now I don't live here you do and I heard some of you a few minutes ago and you might have comments about what I'm going to say
[01:03:17] I'm not judging the comments I'm telling you what she said so it's not a judgment on the comments but she was saying that because of the way you get frozen in especially in far out parts of the state not as much here but in further out parts in the middle of the winter it's harder to be able to show proof of citizenship in person for some people okay you can judge you're the ones who live here so I don't I don't know what your state is like but you
[01:03:45] do okay so I listened to that and I listened to it in good faith and I gave her the benefit of the doubt because I I don't I don't live here and I thought wait I did visit Fairbanks a few years ago and the northern lights they're my favorite thing I love the northern lights um I so I visited and one of the things that I learned about from all of these people on tours who live here is how important the payout from the pipeline is to
[01:04:15] you and I know I've talked to people in the last 24 hours it's not as much as it used to be but it's a big deal you get a payout I was like wait I bet because they were telling me how you have to live here a certain number of days and they keep track of it all this stuff all that was going through my head I was like oh my gosh I think you have to be a citizen in order to get this right and so I go and look it up and you do or you can be a permanent resident so you may not be a citizen or maybe the permanent resident is also to apply to native Alaskans I'm not sure
[01:04:45] exactly how that part works but the point is is permanent residency or um as a citizenship a native Alaskans are citizens so I I'm I don't I think this is non not for non-citizens who are here legally and permanently that would be like a green card holder I believe okay you have to show permanent residency proof or proof of citizenship you either do that in person or you mail it in like your birth certificate you mail it in
[01:05:15] with a return self-addressed envelope and once they verify it they send it back to you it was like why don't you just do that let's make an amendment to the bill let's negotiate and make the same as your payout fund your permanent fund what is it dividend permanent fund dividend now my solution may not be the best solution for your state it may not be the best solution for senator Murkowski but my point here is this and what I would
[01:05:44] urge each of you as her constituents to do is this call and say what will it take to get you to yes go negotiate and get this bill to yes because it affects Alaska but it also affects Arizona we were trying to the whole bill started because we're trying to make sure that the motor voter law doesn't screw things up for Arizona that's wrong it's just wrong and so you're fixing it
[01:06:13] for your state you're fixing it for the whole entire country and if there needs to be an amendment for your state and you do have it is a gorgeous state and you have unique you have a unique situation with your winter that the I'm Georgia and Florida I don't face the same problems so and I moved to Florida four years ago so we face hurricane issues right but the point is there are different issues with different states and that's the nature of negotiating so call and urge her to
[01:06:43] pass this bill but take it a step further and just say what will it take to get you to yes please go negotiate and get to a yes vote and that is what I'm urging you to do with her so now I'm gonna quit I've given you a lot of details and Scott and I what I think that we'd like to do is open up for Q&A for about 15 minutes or so and then we can do
[01:07:12] photos after that but let me just see if anyone has questions and here's a mic for you and right before we start with questions if you do have one feel free to raise your hand I just want to say one very last thing I mentioned earlier when I was introducing Scott I'm I started as a grassroots activist who was active in the Republican Women's Club and the Republican Party and volunteered for campaigns and have gone door to door and started this
[01:07:41] Tea Party movement was one of the co-founders I understand what it takes to be a volunteer activist I know the time and commitment that each of you put in the fact that you're here on a Sunday afternoon tells me you love this country as much as President Trump loves this country you're willing to give of your time you're willing to give of your money and I can't do what I do without all of you Scott can't do what he
[01:08:10] does without all of you and we love you and appreciate you and I just want to let you know how much I appreciate you thank you so much and thank you for being like President Trump and fight fighting for our country and I was so gosh darn jet lagged because look I'm in I'm an East Coast boy don't
[01:08:40] hold it against me I mentioned our beautiful congressman but I didn't mention our beloved Senator Dan Sullivan that we are going to re-elect on Tuesday November 3rd 20 26 please forgive me but Sullivan did vote for the Save America Act if you enjoyed today's conversation go ahead and hit like and
