When you allow amnesty, you allow law-breaking. And even pairing amnesty with a penalty tells foreigners that they are allowed to break the law, just with a fine.
We must set the standard that our laws have affirmed for decades – we welcome immigrants through the legal channels. Coming to America illegally only damages the potential immigrants have for the “better life” they were pursuing.
