The SAVE America Act is the biggest no-brainer in modern American political history. It restricts voting to American citizens. It requires voter ID. The latest Rasmussen poll shows 63 percent support — and that is the worst poll Scott McKay has ever seen on it. Eighty-seven percent of Americans, including 73 percent of Democrats, agree only American citizens should vote in American elections.
So why won't the Senate pass it?

Susan Collins is fundraising off the SAVE America Act. She still won't vote for it. When Senator Kennedy offered the SAVE America Act as an amendment during reconciliation, it failed 48 to 50 — Collins did not vote in favor. Scott Pressler and Jenny Beth Martin are going to Maine the last weekend of May to talk to voters about exactly what she is doing.
