She was a nurse. She had been working the COVID wards at a neighboring hospital right up to the day she delivered her baby by c-section. She went to that same hospital's emergency room with cold symptoms and was sent home with nothing. Then she got worse.
She was not Dr. John Littell's patient. An obstetrician friend called him, frantic. By the time Littell got there she was sitting on the edge of her bed with perioral cyanosis, no pulse oximeter anywhere on her, her baby in the crib and her husband beside himself. He asked the nurses to get an oxygen reading. It was about 80 percent and falling.
The hospital would not let him give her ivermectin. So he took out of his own pocket the three milligram tablets he carried for precisely that reason, gave her four on the spot, and moved her off the ward. He kept treating her out of his own stash for close to forty-eight hours because he could not get it from the hospital pharmacy. She went home with her baby in three days.
In the same hospital at the same time, he says, pregnant women were on ventilators.
He follows it with the contrast: a mayor who did not want to be admitted, who got the full therapeutic dose out of the hospital formulary because of who he was, went home in forty-eight hours, and was duck hunting a week later.
