She had worked the COVID ward right up to the day she delivered by c-section. Now she was sitting on the edge of her hospital bed, blue around the mouth, her oxygen saturation at 80 percent and dropping, her newborn in the crib beside her and her husband distraught. She was not Dr. John Littell's patient. Another physician called him. The hospital pharmacy would not release ivermectin, so Littell walked over with the three milligram tablets he kept in his own pocket for exactly that situation, gave her four on the spot, and kept treating her out of his own supply for close to forty-eight hours. She went home with her baby in three days.
Dr. John Littell has practiced family medicine since 1990. He served seven years as an Army physician, he has held hospital privileges across two Florida cities, and during the pandemic he was one of a very small number of American doctors treating COVID patients with early, off-label therapy while hospitals, pharmacies, and medical boards worked to stop him.
