Florida has set the standard. All 67 of Florida’s sheriff’s departments and 75 percent of the state’s law enforcement agencies now have 287G agreements, the program that delegates federal immigration arrest authority to local police. Across the rest of the country, average red-state participation sits at just 6.5 percent. Meanwhile, Texas has been the only state actually counting the cost: a preliminary report from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission documented 121.8 million dollars in hospital costs for illegal aliens in November 2024 alone, and Florida documented 659.9 million in losses for 2024.
Mike also breaks down the state-by-state population estimates, why Georgia has more illegal aliens than the border state of Arizona, and why the numbers most often cited are likely two to three times below the actual total.
