Tom Zawistowski has been doing this since 2020. That year his group tried to buy billboards from Lamar and the other big outdoor advertising companies to support President Trump in Ohio, and the companies would not sell to them. So they asked: what if we print the billboards ourselves and ask farmers to hang them on barns along the interstates? They did, and Zawistowski says it helped carry Ohio in 2020. In 2024 they did it again with 103 billboards, and because farmers have dogs, guns and a long driveway, not one was torn down.
In this segment of The Jenny Beth Show, guest host Robert McNeily, in for Jenny Beth Martin, hears how the program is now going national: anyone with a barn or a commercial building on a high-traffic road can order a sign at freedomforallpac.org and have it shipped, free. The message reads "Free for them, taken from you," and Zawistowski explains why it does not say "vote for Republicans": when they tested that line, voters angry at Republicans turned off.
The conversation turns to Ohio's Senate race, where former Senator Sherrod Brown is running as an economic populist against Senator Jon Husted, and to the voters Zawistowski says will decide it: people who voted for Trump in 2024 and do not normally show up in an off-year. President Trump is headed to Dayton to campaign for Husted and Vivek Ramaswamy, and Zawistowski's message is blunt: if you do not want the Make America Great Again agenda shut down, every Republican on the ballot needs your vote. After Election Day, he says, the job is holding Republicans to what they promised, starting with the SAVE America Act, and writing President Trump's executive orders into law before a future president throws them out.
