Saturday, May 17, the Republican Senator from Louisiana who voted to convict President Trump after January 6 finished a stunning third place in his own primary. Cassidy outspent his opponents three-to-one. He still got 25 percent. Trump-endorsed Julia Letlow took 45 percent. Former Congressman John Fleming took 28. The voters of Louisiana delivered the cleanest possible verdict on establishment Republicans who refuse to fight for the President's agenda.
