Scott Presler takes the stage in Anchorage, Alaska on Day 123 of his public pressure campaign on the United States Senate to pass the SAVE America Act, and he comes prepared with a list.
After thanking Alaskans for flipping the state's lone House seat back to Republican Nick Begich in 2024, Scott walks the crowd through the math: a Republican president, a Republican House that passed the SAVE America Act 218 to 213 under Speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican Senate majority of 53, and 84% of Americans who say only American citizens should vote in American elections. And yet the bill is stalled.
Then Scott names the four Republican senators who voted to block the SAVE America Act from being attached to the budget reconciliation package on a simple-majority vote: Tom Tillis of North Carolina, where the state implemented the SAVE system and found 34,000 dead voters on the rolls; Mitch McConnell of Kentucky; Susan Collins of Maine; and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska.
He closes with a direct ask of Alaska grassroots activists: pick up the phone and call the Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121, every day, until the bill passes. And he commits to working at the state legislative level too, with state-level proof of citizenship bills already drafted in Indiana and Idaho.
