A little over a year ago Victoria Manning and her team at Restoration News started compiling something nobody else was compiling. She kept finding news reports of atrocious crimes across the country, filing public records requests for more detail, and discovering that the people involved were being held on immigration detainers. The reports almost never said so. The public was not being told these were people who had crossed the border illegally.
So they built the record themselves. IllegalAlienCrimes.com is public records requests to sheriff's departments across the nation, requests to immigration enforcement, media reports, and social media, scoured and compiled into one searchable place. Most of the entries go back to 2020. Some are older, including people who served time for serious crimes and were picked up for deportation on release. The count stands at 51,942 documented crimes. That figure is Restoration News's own count and its own methodology, not a government statistic.
Manning's purpose is not shock. It is two things: help people understand what is happening in their own backyard from a safety standpoint, and give them something concrete to bring to their state legislators.
Jenny Beth Martin tests it live on the air with the state least likely to prove the point. Wyoming. Not a border state, not a place anybody associates with this at all. She clicks into Natrona County and the filings keep going, and going.
That leads to the part of this that people forget. Jenny Beth Martin was at the southern border repeatedly during the Biden administration, and she watched the Phoenix airport go from overflowing with people who were not citizens to looking almost normal. What she learned later was that the traffic had not stopped. People were using a Customs and Border Protection app to book a flight from a phone and be flown into the interior of the country, sometimes on chartered aircraft, clearing a checkpoint on arrival instead of at the border. Every state became a border state. Every county became a border county.
Manning built the site to make that visible. Wyoming is a red state and it still cannot patrol its own state line. And what astounded her most in the records she compiled was the sheer number of sexual predators, including predators of children.
