The day before this show, Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for United States Senate in Michigan, posted two words: "Abolish ICE." It is the same demand the Democratic Socialists of America issued over the weekend. Jenny Beth Martin asks Rosemary Jenks of the Immigration Accountability Project what happens to immigration law if the left takes the House or the Senate, and the answer runs past the border.
First, no Permanent Trump Secure Border Act. Second, the money: the One Big Beautiful Bill and the Secure America Act funded ICE through President Trump's term, but Congress can rescind what has not been spent. Third, the 2030 census. Illegal aliens count toward apportionment and toward federal funding, so Democrats have a direct incentive to keep as many in California, New York, and Illinois as possible. And then the part Jenks says could come before the new Congress even starts: a discharge petition on a Democrat amnesty bill that she says is one signature away from forcing a House floor vote in the lame duck, covering four to five million people. Do not count on the Senate to stop it; the Senate passed the Gang of Eight amnesty in 2013.
Jenny Beth answers the way she always does. If you do not want amnesty, go vote, and get other people to vote. A sponsor of the amnesty push has herself called it a stepping stone toward citizenship. Jenks closes the loop: allowing illegal aliens to stay and work is amnesty whether or not citizenship is attached, and a Republican who stays home is voting for open borders, noncitizen voting, and welfare for illegal aliens.
Guest: Rosemary Jenks, co-founder and policy director of the Immigration Accountability Project, who testified before the House Judiciary Committee in September on what Congress must do to make the Trump border policies permanent.
