[00:00:00] There is a job board on the internet built for illegal aliens in this country. Let me say it again. There is a job board on the internet built for people who entered this country illegally and are not legally allowed to work in the country. One of the jobs it advertises is knocking on doors to get out the vote for Democrats and leftists. It pays $25 to $40 an hour, and the listing says people with a criminal record are encouraged to apply.
[00:00:27] Welcome to The Jenny Beth Show. I'm Jenny Beth Martin. Welcome to The Jenny Beth Show.
[00:00:47] My guest today is the one who found that job board, Victoria Manning. She is an investigative senior researcher at Restoration News, and she's been with me before. I'm glad to have her back. She served eight years as an elected member of the Virginia Board of Virginia Beach School Board. She wrote a book called Behind the Wall of Government Schools.
[00:01:08] Today, we're going to be talking about a United States Senator who called our sailors fragile, and he did this during an election year, and what the deployment records actually show. We're going to talk about what that job board is exactly and who's paying for it. And we're going to be talking about a database tracking illegal alien crime that Vicky and her team built. And we'll talk about in the very end how she got her start and what she's done on in the
[00:01:38] public school system and what parents are still not being told. Vicky, thank you so much for joining me again today. Hi, Jenny Beth. It's great to be with you. So let's start with your piece on Senator Mark Warner. Now, you're a Navy wife, in addition to being an author and a former school board member and a mom. So this really hit home for you, didn't it?
[00:02:01] Senator Warner said about the crew on the USS Abraham Lincoln that has been out working and doing the military action in Iran. He has said that they're being pushed to the brink after more than 260 days at sea.
[00:02:20] And he pulled, just tell me, what do you, when I read what he said, when I read it, and I am nothing at all like you, you have a military, a family who has served in the military. What do you think when you hear this from a senator? He basically is saying that the sailors out there who are protecting our very liberty are snowflakes.
[00:02:45] Yeah, so these brave men and women sign up to serve our nation, and they know deployments are not easy. My husband served 30 years in our United States Navy, retired as a Navy captain, and he has spent over three years of his life serving on Navy ships deployed. And it's not easy. It's never easy for the service members or their families, but they know what it's about.
[00:03:11] This is not a luxury cruise. And when my senator, who represents Norfolk Naval Base, one of the largest Navy bases in the world, said this about our sailors, I was just appalled. Because he is demeaning the leaders on that ship who just sacrificed so much to do what's best for not only our nation, but those sailors that are serving under them, those sailors and Marines.
[00:03:41] And so clearly, Mark Warner, it's an election year. He's running for re-election. You know, when he first ran, he said that he would never serve more than two terms. He's now running for his fourth term. And so Mark Warner has clearly politicized our military for his own benefit. Okay, and elaborate on that. What do you think of him running for four terms when he said he was only going to run for two?
[00:04:07] Well, you know, I guess once you get up in the D.C. in the swamp and you experience that power, it's addicting. And I think that that's where Mark Warner is. He's been a politician his whole life. I guess he doesn't know what else to do with himself. And, you know, he also clearly has Trump derangement syndrome. You know, we've had deployments on our ships much longer than the USS Lincoln.
[00:04:37] The Lincoln itself has been deployed for longer than it's been out to sea this time. Yet Mark Warner never made any derogatory comments about our sailors and Marines during those periods of time. It's clearly because Trump is in charge now. Yeah, it hasn't happened before. And I've asked my producer if he can pull up the article that you wrote. When you go down about halfway on that page, it says what Democrats aren't telling you.
[00:05:06] And there are extended deployments that are nothing new for the Navy on the USS Abraham Lincoln. And this one stood out to me, but there are several. I'll say the one that stood out to me last. So first you've got 2019, the Lincoln was deployed for 295 days. Then in 2022, the USS H.W. Bush, so now the Lincoln, a different ship, was deployed for 256 days.
[00:05:35] And then this one stood out because it's a similar situation. You've got in 2002, the Lincoln again was deployed for 290 days. And at the time, Senator Maria Cantwell praised the mission and the contribution to the war effort. So back then, in 2002, we had senators who were praising the contribution that the military was making, understanding that they can be deployed for a while.
[00:06:03] And it's not exactly a cruise ship, as you just mentioned. But they weren't making excuses for the fact that it is a military vessel and we are engaged in a military conflict. So how do you contrast what Maria Cantwell said in 2002 to what Senator Warner is saying today?
[00:06:25] Well, I think that these Democrat politicians just oppose the Trump administration so much they will do and say anything, including demeaning our military. And that's not going to go over very well for Mark Warner in this state in an election year. So, you know, I just really believe it's purely political. We've seen Senator Tim Kaine say some of the same things. Mark Kelly from Arizona. They just hate this president so much.
[00:06:55] They're willing to throw our service members under the bus. OK, so let's take a look at what the Secretary of the Navy said, Hong Chao, who is a Navy veteran himself. He said sailors and the Marines are expected to dig deep, and they always do. He said it's a leader's job to take care of his people while he balances the mission and that on this deployment we've seen both.
[00:07:22] And, Vicki, that's kind of what you were just saying, that when the senator is doing this, he's actually undermining the leadership of the crew and of the entire ship. So what do you think that it's saying to a young sailor at sea when they see the senator saying this, and then you've got the Secretary of the Navy trying to back up the leadership? So I think right now it's just a PR campaign.
[00:07:50] I'm sure that those sailors and Marines on the USS Lincoln are remaining professional. Their leaders are hopefully keeping them from this propaganda campaign that's going on in the Democrat Party. And it is a PR situation. I'm sure that's why Secretary Cao came out and made those statements. You know, I personally know Hong Cao. He's an amazing leader.
[00:08:15] If the sailors and Marines on that ship were in any harm's way as far as the conditions on the ship, I guarantee you he would be taking action. But I don't think that's the case here. Okay, that makes sense. And then one more thing. You brought your husband into the piece. You said your husband did six deployments. So what is it like as the wife of a person who is being deployed or a spouse of a person who is being deployed?
[00:08:43] And also, what's it like for a parent? Part of this seems from, it sounded like to me, from young sailors on the ship who are complaining to their parents. And we have a generation of parents who hover over their children and just want to make everything right for them. And so they're complaining and making things, the complaints that their kids have public. And I get it. They're advocating for their kids, but also their kids are adults now.
[00:09:13] So anyway, just what do you make of it? And what is going on for the wife of a sailor and also for a parent of a sailor? So my husband actually did his last appointment right before I met him. So I've never experienced that firsthand. After I met him, he didn't have any more deployments after that. However, I have friends, neighbors, community members, friends at my church.
[00:09:40] I have a very close friend at church whose husband just got back off the carrier Ford just a few months ago. And they were deployed for 11 months. And he has five little children. And I can tell you, the military community comes around and supports these families. It truly is a tight-knit community. We take care of one another.
[00:10:05] And, you know, so I think that that's what we should focus on when these politicians start to make these, when they start politicizing these issues. We know what's really going on. We know that our sailors and Marines are being taken care of by their leaders. Absolutely. And then one last question on this particular topic. President Trump, with President Trump, we've seen that recruiting numbers for our military have really increased.
[00:10:34] We've been told for years that young people just were not going to sign up and the military couldn't fill its ranks. But with President Trump as commander-in-chief, he's been able to turn that around. And then you just mentioned that what you think we're seeing from the senator is a bit of a PR war and it ties to the election year.
[00:10:52] Do you think that what the senator is saying and the way the news media is making such a big deal about, especially about food on the ship, that seems to be the thing that I've seen the most about, do you think it's going to affect recruitment in the long run? Do you think that someone who's sitting at home, a young man sitting at home thinking about signing up, that this may affect their decision?
[00:11:17] I mean, it could, but I think that the Trump administration has done a really good job when jumping on these issues and countering them and correcting them right away. You know, Secretary Cowell's statement that he made right away was fantastic.
[00:11:32] And, you know, I'm seeing here in my community, sailors, people signing up for extended tours of duty because they see what the Trump administration has done with our military. They see goals and standards being raised. They see this service as an aspiration now. And they see that their commander in chief wants to take care of them.
[00:12:01] And so I was at the Norfolk Naval Station last, I believe it was last year when President Trump came and spoke to sailors on the base. And I got to talk to some of those sailors and they were so excited about this administration. And I think that's why we're seeing the recruiting numbers so high. Yeah. And in fact, you actually wrote about this at the end of July. And I'm asking, I was asking the question because you did write about it.
[00:12:30] And then we have this, I don't want to say blow up when I'm talking about the media, but this scuffle, the PR scuffle that we're discussing right now. In July, at the end of July, you wrote that the Navy smashes the 2026 recruitment goals, writing what President Biden got wrong and that merit is replacing the social justice agenda.
[00:12:54] And I think based on my anecdotal experience that I've had with military families from around the country over the last few years, I think my team's trying to pull that up. Let me just give them that article really quick. And they have that on the screen now.
[00:13:15] Now, what they were telling me during the Biden administration is that they were saying my grandfather, my father, my husband were all in the military. And I'm telling my son to just hold off. Just wait for wait until we see what happens in the next election. And I think a lot of them are like, OK, now now you can go go sign up again.
[00:13:39] And I think a lot of that is because they wanted to see the military that is based on merit, not on social justice. They want to know that when their sons or daughters are going to enlist and put their lives at risk, that they're not needlessly put at risk. They understand that it's a risky, a risky volunteer situation that that we have. They want to want to see their kids being needlessly put at risk.
[00:14:08] And I think that's what was happening when social justice was the top priority for the military. Absolutely. And we were not respected around the world. I think that that was one of the major problems with under the Biden and Obama administration. You know, Obama would draw his red line and then move his red line. And we saw the same thing with Joe Biden. And nobody even knew who was running the military at that point.
[00:14:35] And so I think folks who were considering serving their nation, they wanted to, but they did not they did not want to serve under commander in chief who was not respected on the world stage. I think that you're exactly right about that. I'm glad recruitment is up. And I want to just be very clear. I'm not making light. I know that what's happening on the USS Lincoln is very difficult.
[00:14:58] I appreciate so much every single man and woman aboard that ship and every single person enlisted in military service right now. And they are making great, great sacrifices for our country. And I want that sacrifice to be as easy as it possibly can be for them. So I understand some of the complaints and I can understand why parents are going, wait, get some better food for my kids or whatever it might be.
[00:15:27] It's not just a parent interfering with a job. It's a parent advocating to their elected official. I can appreciate that. I think there's a balance there. And it's one thing for that to happen. It's another thing to turn into a news story and a PR cycle trying to score points and turn our military who truly are risking their lives for us into pawns in a political game in an election. You're absolutely right.
[00:15:55] And, you know, I think that, you know, we as parents, we care about our kids. I have a son in the military myself. I understand it firsthand. But we can't micromanage our kids once they join the military. They are adults and we need to stay out of the fray. We can advocate for them, but we can't make things up. That's right. OK, Vicki, we're going to be right back. And when we come back, we'll be talking about that job board that I talked about in the opening.
[00:16:24] So quick break and we'll be right back. You are the grassroots of America. You love this country. When you love something, really love it. The news doesn't just inform you. It fires you up and you find yourself asking, how can I make a difference? That is exactly what this show is built to answer. Never, ever, ever, ever give up. We owe it to every American who has ever voted to make America great again. We owe it to our future selves.
[00:16:53] We owe it to this republic to stand tall, to stay active, and to be smart about how we spend our energy so that we can win. Here on the Jenny Beth Show, we're going to help you do exactly that. Every show, we will break down the news, connect it to first principles, and give you specific, effective ways to take action. Not just outrage, action. And I am so glad you're here on this journey with us to do it. So let's get to it. Welcome to the Jenny Beth Show.
[00:17:24] Welcome back to the Jenny Beth Show. I'm here with Victoria Manning of Restoration News. And the next story is one of her exclusives from Restoration News. Vicki, walk people through what is going on. What is Undocuprofessionals? So I came across this when someone shared a job posting with me for campaign door knockers for the Democrat Party to help get out the vote for Democrats.
[00:17:51] And on job posting, it specifically said that they were encouraging folks with a criminal record to apply for the position. As I dug further into it, I found out that this third-party organization working for the Democrat Party was also posting these jobs on a site called Undocuprofessionals.net. So I dug further into it. The founder herself, Sherit Garcia, came here to this country illegally.
[00:18:21] She was one of Obama's DACA recipients. That was, she was able to stay in the country. And she formed, she completed college here. She got a graduate degree. And then she started this organization. It's essentially a LinkedIn job board for illegal aliens. And companies actually advertise jobs here.
[00:18:46] But there are jobs that are contracted jobs where you don't have to have a social security number. You can use what's called an ITIN, a tax identification number. So that allows you to report and pay income taxes to the federal government. But it does not give you legal status to be here. And it's not a worker's permit. So I exposed what was going on, published this article on Monday.
[00:19:15] And I looked today. And a lot of the website actually has been scrubbed. So somebody's gotten the message it's out. However, I have all the receipts. I have screenshots of all of the companies that advertised there. I have reached out to the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice. And I'm hoping that they're going to take some action on this. Yeah, I hope that they take action as well. They've got a conference coming up soon.
[00:19:45] They're encouraging people to become a fundraiser for their conference. And it's pretty crazy there. So let's take a look at the block that I have on the screen right now. There's, it's federal law. And in the middle block is federal law, 8 U.S.C. section 1324A.
[00:20:11] It shows that it, and it carries prison time. It is unlawful to knowingly hire or recruit or refer for a fee an unauthorized illegal alien. So Vicki, how are they getting around this? How can they have a website that is so blatantly trying to work around the federal law? Well, for one thing, she's established this business in California.
[00:20:37] So we know that the liberals are going to protect the illegal aliens in California. And it's, it's been pretty amazing how blatant she has been.
[00:20:49] She actually, the day before I, we published the article, she recorded a video about her upcoming conference and talked about how there were going to be employers there who could help illegal aliens, undocumented immigrants, obtain jobs, and basically admitting that she's skirting the law here.
[00:21:15] And I think for so many years, she's gotten by with this because there's not been any enforcement by the federal government on these things. And I'm hoping with this exposure, this is a widespread issue.
[00:21:30] Now that I'm starting to dig into it, I'm going to have a follow-up article probably coming out later this week on more things that I found where you've got colleges and universities that are helping illegal alien students obtain jobs through undocuprofessionals, as well as other organizations that I've uncovered that are assisting in these ways.
[00:21:52] Okay, I'm going to bring up the website again for undocuprofessionals because you just said that colleges are sponsoring it. And we're clicking through to a link on the website to a conference. That one is for the scholarships for immigrants fund. Go to the second link that I sent. They'll bring that up in just a second.
[00:22:17] When we scroll down on that, it says, thank you to our sponsors, Undocuprofessional 2026 Conference. And they're highlighting that Cornell Law School is one of the sponsors for it. Scroll down just a little bit. Keep going. They're not even hiding who their sponsors are. They're there. It's right there. It's hard. It's hard to see it. But that red box in the page.
[00:22:45] Yeah, I saw that earlier today. That actually was not on the site when I first wrote the article. It's there now. And it's blatant. I have found dozens of other colleges and universities that are referring undocuprofessionals, referring illegal aliens to this website. So it's pretty widespread. And I'm hoping shining the light on this is going to make a difference.
[00:23:15] Yeah, I think it's really important that you are shining the light on it. And then there are jobs out there, as you were just mentioning, about knocking on doors to turn out the vote, especially for Democrats in seven particular states. So it's not just that this site is advocating for people who are here illegally to get a job.
[00:23:36] The Democrat Party or at least groups, outside groups who have liberal values, are promoting and working to get jobs, get people jobs from this site. And they even are willing. They're saying that it's OK if you have a criminal record. I'm just I'm a little bit shocked by it. I understand when you've paid your time to society that we do have to have a way to allow
[00:24:04] people to get get back to work. So we do understand that. But I wouldn't want to hire people who have a criminal record to be going door to door for me either. Yeah, that's the first thing I thought when I saw this. It's a it's a safety issue for me. You know, what's the recidivism rate for for criminals these days? It could be an opportunity for them to case homes while they're knocking on the doors. So that was that was my initial reaction when I saw this this job ad.
[00:24:34] And then I dug into the fact that they're hiring other people who've broken laws to the illegal aliens. They they've clearly broken the law by coming to our country illegally. And so that's the that's the Democrat Party for you. Yeah, it really is. And then it seems that it ties back to Merrimack and that Merrimack is working with a progressive turnout project. For someone who's never heard of these organizations, who who are they?
[00:25:04] What are these organizations? So Merrimack is just kind of a third party entity organizing this for the Democrat Party, the progressive turnout project. I've not this was actually the first time I have heard from them. But there are so many groups like this that are far left helping the Democrats organize to get out the vote. And it's just they have so many of them. They're hard to track.
[00:25:33] Yeah, there really are so many that is hard to track. So let me ask you, you this somebody may be watching and thinking it's not every job on the side is related to a campaign and people have to have a way to get get paid to to make a living. So what is a big deal? What do you say to that? So this is taking jobs from American citizens.
[00:25:59] And I really do believe that this is impacting our economy. You know, a year or so ago, I wrote an article about illegal aliens in North Carolina obtaining these tax identification ITIN numbers to get mortgages and bursting homes. And, you know, the, you know, the housing crisis that we have in this nation.
[00:26:25] I am certain that illegal immigration has had a severe impact on that. And so they're taking away opportunities and jobs from American citizens or, you know, those who have come here the right way to seek the American dream. They're taking those opportunities away from them as well. Yeah, I think that that is the big thing.
[00:26:52] And you've got people who are here lawfully and it isn't fair to them. And it isn't fair to the people who are our citizens of the country either. All right. Very quickly, before we take our next break, if someone's watching this and they want to find out more about this website, where do they go to find it? We put it up on the screen, but talk about where they go for that. And also, where do they go to find your writing? So we publish everything on restoration-news.com.
[00:27:22] We're on social media, X, Instagram, Facebook. So you can follow us. You can even sign up to receive our weekly newsletter to stay up to date on all of our news. Very good. And then the website for this particular, the un, it's, it's hard to see because I want to say unprofessional or undocumented, but it's undocuprofessionals.net. Be sure to go check it out.
[00:27:50] If they're taking down and scrubbing some other site, you might want to go soon before they take down even more. All right. We'll be right back after this break. And when we come back, we're going to be talking to Vicki about the database that she created that lists crimes that illegal aliens have committed. And there are tens of thousands of entries in this database.
[00:28:35] Welcome back. Still with me is Victoria Manning of Restoration News. Vicki, the next one is not really an article as much as the database that your team built. Tell people about what illegal alien crimes is. Sorry. Let me restate that. It's illegalaliencrimes.com. I think we can imagine what illegal alien crimes are, but illegalaliencrimes.com. Yeah, that's a mouthful.
[00:29:01] So a little over a year ago, we started compiling crimes that were being committed by illegal aliens. I was finding news reports about people committing these atrocious crimes across the nation. And then, you know, I'd make public records requests for more information. I was finding that these individuals were being placed on ICE detainers.
[00:29:24] The legacy media was never informing the public that they were illegal aliens and that they had crossed the border illegally under Joe Biden. And so we came up with this idea to, you know, we'll find a way to inform the public about what is happening literally in their backyard. These crimes are taking place across the nation, both blue and red states.
[00:29:52] And, you know, the media is just not publicizing it. So that's the incentive behind this website is just to help the public understand from a safety aspect what's happening, but also to help them advocate for laws and policies in their state to keep them safe. Yeah. So this site is very, very good.
[00:30:20] And I want to talk, I want to bring it back up and click through on it. But before we do that, you've got nearly 52,000 records in here right now so far. How far back does the database go? And how were you able to compile all of this information? Most of the crimes go back to 2020. Some of them are older than that.
[00:30:48] You know, some of these folks have served time for heinous crimes and are set to be released. And then ICE picks them up and deports them. We this wasn't quite an undertaking. We made a lot of public records requests from sheriff's departments across the nation, requested information from ICE, media reports, social media hits.
[00:31:15] We scoured for all of the information to compile it on the site. Okay. So let's just, let's walk through the site. So there it is. Let's pick Wyoming because that's a state. Probably people don't think very much about illegal alien crime happening in Wyoming, but let's just click through when we click on it. And we, you have to scroll down a little bit. This just gives people an idea of how to use the site.
[00:31:44] And it's a very good site. Click on, um, Natrona County Rona, Nat Rona County in the middle. One, the red one. There we go. When you do that and you scroll down, there's one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10. It just keeps going. There are a lot of public filings, um, here.
[00:32:11] That's in a state that it's not a traditional border state, which really highlights part of the issue from what was happening in the Biden administration. Initially, the, the border, and I was down there, I'm looking at the map right now as we talk instead of directly in the camera. But initially I was in Arizona several times. We went all the way across the border and I was down at the border several times during the Biden administration.
[00:32:39] And the airport in Arizona, in Phoenix was overloaded with people who were not citizens. It just, every time you could go through, I have photos of my, in my phone from, from the way that the airport looked then. It looks like a completely different airport when you go through it now.
[00:32:58] But then halfway through, a little bit more than halfway through the Biden administration, that airport started kind of evening out and it didn't look the same as it did when it was overflowing. And what I, we wound up learning is that they were using the custom and border patrol app to allow people to just sign up on it for a flight on their phone and be flown into our country illegally all over the country.
[00:33:27] So they bypassed the border and just went through a custom and border patrol checkpoint when they got off of an airplane somewhere in the country. And sometimes they were going through like specially chartered planes, not even commercial airlines. And I think that's part of the reason why we look at Wyoming and it's overflowing with, with crime from illegal aliens, because every single state and every single county became a border county and a border state.
[00:33:57] You're exactly right. And this website was meant to help people visualize that. And, you know, like you said, Wyoming, it's a red state, but they can't patrol their, their state border and know who's coming over. And, you know, you have people in every state that are set up to help protect these folks.
[00:34:20] You've got nonprofits that are getting tax exempt status that are helping these illegal aliens. For example, the UndocuProfessionals website. There are a lot of nonprofits out there who are helping them come across the border now. And if you look at the crimes on this website, what just astounded me is the amount of sexual predators and child sexual predators you'll find on that site.
[00:34:51] It is, it is scary. And, you know, we don't know exactly how many illegal aliens and illegal alien criminals I think that El Salvador probably emptied out their prisons and sent them across our border. We have no idea. It could be, you know, 20 million. It could be 40 million. We just don't know. But the Trump administration has done a great job, but they still have a lot of work left to do.
[00:35:20] Yeah, they do. And when you have that many people who entered the country illegally, you're just going to run into, you are going to run into this kind of crime. And when it is the predatory crime, that is the worst kind of crime. Predatory and physical violence. And physical violence, of course, that leads to death is the absolute worst.
[00:35:50] The property crime and the civil crime are also very, very bad. But the predatory, it makes you feel unsafe. It makes you feel unsafe as a woman. It makes you worry about your children, your daughters. We, especially in Georgia, we still remember what happened to Lake and Riley. And this site helps us show, helps us see it isn't just Lake and Riley. It isn't just Jocelyn Nungary.
[00:36:15] But there were people all over the country who have been victims because victims of crime committed by illegal aliens. And every single one of these, when we click through, there's a victim behind that. What did you make of that as you're sitting there and you're seeing it on, you're posting it, you're helping build this incredible website, knowing they're victims behind it? It was absolutely heartbreaking, especially when it's child victims.
[00:36:44] And, you know, some of these victims are children who have been brought across the border illegally through human trafficking and, you know, victims of the cartels. And so these illegal aliens, many of them are victims themselves. And we need to have compassion on them. But that doesn't mean that we have to, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't also enforce the law.
[00:37:13] We can have compassion on them. And one thing that I saw that the Trump administration did early on is they gave a path for folks who've come here illegally to leave. And they even offered to pay for it and did pay for it and provide them transportation. And I think that that was very humanitarian to give them that opportunity, even though they didn't have to. Yes, I think that you are exactly right about that.
[00:37:41] So I encourage everyone to go check this out. It's illegalaliencrimes.com. Again, illegalaliencrimes.com. All right. We're going to take a very short break. And when we come back, we're going to wrap up and just talk a little bit about your background, Victoria, and the book that you've written.
[00:38:17] Welcome back to The Jenny Beth Show. I'm Jenny Beth Martin. And with me is Victoria Manning. Vicki, you spent eight years as an elected member of the Virginia Beach School Board. You wrote a book called Behind the Wall of Government Schools. So tell us about this book and what you learned being an elected school board member.
[00:38:40] So the book talks about how I got involved in my path during my eight years on the school board. And by the way, that was over COVID.
[00:38:51] So I encountered things as an elected official on a school board that I never thought I'd ever have to deal with, trying to fight to get kids back into school, trying to keep forced masking off of our kids, trying to prevent them from being forced to take an unauthorized vaccine. And so the book details a lot of that.
[00:39:15] You know, I was not involved in politics when I first got involved in my schools and started uncovering things that were happening. I started seeing standards being lowered for my sons and I wasn't going to accept that. So I actually pulled my kids out of public schools and started homeschooling them. But I didn't want to run away from the problem. I wanted to make a difference. And I was encouraged to run for school board. And I did.
[00:39:42] And I won at large election in two cycles. And, you know, my book also encourages folks to get involved. If you're going to complain about it, do something about it is my mantra or stop complaining about it. And so so that's what I did. And we eventually were able to flip our school board majority from an eight to three Democrat school board to it is now a six to five Republican majority.
[00:40:11] That is amazing that you were able to flip it because hopefully you've got people who are going to increase the standards and not decrease the standards. I want to talk about a few things that you just said. Let me start with the standards and we'll come back to encouraging everyone to get involved in and the and also federal school policy, federal policy for schools. But you were talking about slipping standards.
[00:40:39] Last week, I did a show, an episode. And in that episode, we were talking about how a few things are happening around the country. One in Nashville, there are public school teachers in K-12. One who was the teacher of the year in a middle school who wound up resigning because she was asked to overturn a passing grade and she refused to do it. But the grade got overturned anyway. And finally, she just had enough of it.
[00:41:07] And she she resigned after she stepped forward. Another teacher has stepped forward. So that is a case of slipping standards and K through 12. Then we go to the University of Michigan. And one of the colleges in the University of Michigan has said, we are not going to show grades to freshmen because they're a little bit fragile emotionally. We need to take care of them.
[00:41:29] Kind of reminds me of being worried about the fragile soldiers who are are capable of much more than what I think the media and Senator Warner is giving them credit for. And they don't want to show them their grades and they won't incorporate the grades from the first semester or the first year into their GPA, which is craziness. It counts as you don't get a mulligan. This is this is supposed to be real life for them.
[00:41:57] Then we go to the University of California school system. And at Berkeley, there was a professor of mathematics who wrote an op-ed about a week and a half ago now. And she was talking about how in her calculus class, college level calculus, that she's having to teach basic middle school fractions to these kids.
[00:42:21] They're paying for tuition or they're taking on government loans that they're going to have to pay back at some point. That is a very expensive way to learn fractions in middle school math because the K-12 system is failing them. They get into college. The University of California has dropped the entrance exam. So there's no SAT or ACT right now going on there. And it's it is negatively affecting them.
[00:42:49] So these slipping standards that you mentioned and you pulled your kids out to make sure that they're getting a better education. It's that was in Virginia with you. And it's happening all over the country from coast to coast, north to south. It absolutely is. And it's been going on for well over a decade. And people don't always know about it. When I brought this up, when I found out about it, I brought it to the school board and they said that's not happening.
[00:43:19] I had to get proof. They actually did not know that it was happening. They had a superintendent that was controlling the school division and telling the school board what to do. That's not how it's supposed to work. The school board, the superintendents work for the school board. I co-founded an organization here in Virginia called the School Board Member Alliance. We provide governance training to school board members across the state to to equip them to lead.
[00:43:47] And that's what we need more of across our nation. These elected officials need to take their jobs seriously because they have the power to change it. And that is what I ultimately did. Our school board, we got rid of our old superintendent. He's now up causing trouble up in Loudoun County. And we have a superintendent who believes in high achievement and setting goals and raising the bar for kids.
[00:44:15] Kids are going to reach the bar you sit for them. And if you set that bar low, that's where they're going to that's where they're going to go. And, you know, I really encourage people get it. Get involved in your local school board. Show up to meetings. Let them know that you're watching. OK, and let's talk about that. They show up for meetings and you also encourage people to run for office. And you you're not just saying that you've actually put your money where your mouth is on that one.
[00:44:43] So if somebody is listening right now and they're inspired to do more, what does it really look like for them? Well, I think they need to get involved and start just start attending meetings, understanding what's going on. Get to know some of the school board members and start advocating. Start helping them. Start praying for them. You know, it's hard. It's really hard, especially at the local level to represent, because you're hearing from your community every single day.
[00:45:13] Hard for families. It was really hard for my family. I was attacked a lot, especially through covid. So offer them encouragement and support, especially those who are on your side. Assist them. And then, you know, ultimately, it's not for everybody to run for office, but it's not as hard as you may think. And there are organizations out there who are equipped to help folks run for office and to get involved.
[00:45:43] Very good. And then I want to ask you one more question that's a bit more policy related. We hear a lot about returning education to the states or moving it from the federal level to to the seats. And that's a good slogan. What does it actually mean? And how is that beneficial? And I think we may have a slide up. Yeah. Where education policy actually stands with the federal versus Virginia. How is it?
[00:46:11] How and why is it important to return more control of education to the states or to the local governing school school body? Local control is always better. You can pick up the phone or you can show up to a school board meeting and you can see and talk directly to your local official who's setting policy and making decisions for your children in the classroom. You can't you can't call the federal government at the Department of Education. While I love Secretary McMahon, she's not going to be able to take your phone call.
[00:46:41] So reducing that down to the state and local level is where it should be, where it was before 1973, where our school system was actually much better off before then. Now, this doesn't mean that the federal government is completely out of education. I had the opportunity to meet with Secretary McMahon and her staff shortly after she took office.
[00:47:05] And it was her goal not to eliminate public schools, as the left likes to say. It was to return more local control and to get the the federal education system back to where it should be. A lot of federal education system has to do with special education, which fits better the enforcement of that under the Department of Justice. School lunch meals, things like that fits under the Department of Agriculture.
[00:47:36] So it's reallocating a lot of what the Department of Education does back to departments where it belongs. But it also got it got severely bloated. I visited the Department of Education up in D.C. shortly after a lot of the department was let go. And it was a great thing.
[00:48:00] Bureaucrats weren't up there creating more regulation, telling localities what they had to do without providing funding for them. So it's a great thing that I think that power is being returned to state and local control. Yes, I think that you're exactly right about that. Victoria Manning, thank you so much for joining me today. I really appreciate you being with me. It's great. Great being with you, Jenny Da. All right.
[00:48:24] Be sure you check out Victoria's work at Restoration News and also go to Amazon and buy her book, Behind the Wall of Government Schools. You can find Restoration News at restoration-news.com. And the database that she helped build that we talked about is illegalaliencrime.com. I think it's crimes, plural, dot com. Let me just make sure. Illegalaliencrimes.com.
[00:48:53] And as we're closing today, she gave a couple of very good calls to action for you already. Get involved. Go to your local school board. And that is one of the first things. Show up and go to the meetings and pay attention and be involved. Consider running for office. Right now it's going to be too late to run for school board in 2026.
[00:49:12] But you could start going to those meetings today, researching what it takes to run for office, signing up at the leadershipinstitute.org for campaign training, and consider doing that in 2027 or 2028. But the first step in that is making sure you understand even what happens at a school board meeting. And then we're headed into the election. The general election is going to be here before we know it.
[00:49:37] So if you have not picked a local campaign you're going to be involved in, go do that today. Find a local school board race and sign up, volunteer, help go door to door, help get out the word for that local candidate who is going to stand up for our children, the next generation of kids who are supposed to be educated right now but are really being indoctrinated.
[00:50:02] Go help that local school board candidate who is going to help ensure they actually receive a quality education. I'm Jenny Beth Martin.
